Kali and Teeders were back on top of the cliff with Kaasen and the rest of the dog team. The humans were hanging their heads with their eyes closed, fearing they had lost Balto and the chance to save Nome.

The dogs were freezing when suddenly, everyone stopped what they were doing when they heard howling in the distance.

"What was that?" Teeders asked, looking around with Kali and Gunnar Kaasen.

"Oh, great, things are not bad enough" Nikki groaned. "Now we got wolves"

"Wolves!?" The other dogs all said fearfully, clutching close to each other while the girls rolled their eyes.

Kali then saw something out of the corner of her eye towards the bottom of the cliff. "Hey everyone, over here. Look!" She called to the others.

Everyone came over, curious to what Kali was so excited about. And then they saw it!

"It's Balto!" They all exclaimed out of surprise but also joy.

There was Balto. The black husky had the rope tied to the crate with the medicine in it securely in his mouth and was carefully pulling it back up the cliff.

"Come on, Balto! You can make it!" Kali, Teeders, Gunnar, and the rest of the dogs encouraged him.

The former scrub dog heard his friends' encouraging words and continued pulling the crate, not looking back. Soon, with all of his strength, Balto made it back to the top with the medicine to meet with the praising cheers of his friends and the team.

Balto smiled at his friends who were so proud of him, and Balto was very proud of himself as well. But now he had a job to finish. After placing the serum safely back into the sled and with the team hooked up and ready, Balto slipped back into his harness, taking his place as lead dog again and looked back to Gunnar and the girls.

"I'm ready to finish this race" He told them with determination in his eyes.

Kali and Teeders looked back at Balto with smiles and nodded. "Alright!"

Even though he couldn't understand Balto like the adventure girls could, Gunnar had a sense knowing what Balto was thinking as he looked into the black husky's eyes.

Gunnar then gave the command to the team. "Hike!"

And with that word said, the dogs took off. The team ran on the remaining 53 mile journey on the treacherous trail that would lead them back to Nome. But they weren't out of the woods yet.

Halfway along the trail, Teeders spotted some huge and dark storm clouds up ahead, and they were coming right towards the dog team.

"What's that?" Teeders asked Gunnar, pointing out the storm clouds to him.

The Norwegian musher squinted his eyes for a moment before replying. "Looks like a whiteout"

This caused for everyone to become concerned now.

"Well, what do you suggest we do?" Kali asked Gunnar. "We clearly can't go around it"

"No" Gunnar replied quietly, looking upon the dangerous approaching storm clouds but soon narrowed his eyes.

"But we can go through it"

"What?!" The girls said with wide eyes, being a little scared now.

But Gunnar was determined. And with Balto in lead the team trusted him.

"Alright, Balto" Gunnar said to his lead dog. Both of them feeling the determination inside each other. "Time for us to find out who we are"

The dog team bravely ran straight towards the storm clouds as they were getting closer and closer.
