When colonies, micro nations, and other personifications that are going to become countries eventually start becoming them, or getting close to it, they start acting oddly.
Every nation has a greedy side, and that's what starts happening. For instance, America got scarier when he was on the path to being one, and Canada tried to keep his greed unnoticeable. Which is perhaps why he makes himself invisible.
