"I'm home." The same words rolled off the tip of your tongue, unlocking and entering your apartment door.

You turned the lights on, leaving your shoes on the foyer as you made your way to your room. Like always, you come home to no one waiting for you. You wondered how long this would last — you being alone. Despite having Akaashi by your side, you still can't help but feel lonely at times when he's not.

You closed the door behind you, sighing, as you stared at your bedroom. You should probably call Akaashi, he must be worried that you haven't texted him the whole afternoon.

A loud thunder sent shivers down your spine. It's raining again? Good thing Osamu dropped you off early. If he hadn't, you would've been caught up in the rain.

You took your phone out and pressed on Akaashi's contact. It rung a few times, but then stopped, saying "the number you have dialled is either unattended or out of coverage area, please try your call later." You started to worry. Akaashi never misses a text or call from you, and that was no lie. Your phone would usually only ring twice or thrice before he'd pick up, but he didn't pick up at all today.

Sighing, you thought he must have just been too tired and fell asleep when he arrived home. You smiled at the memory of Akaashi's sleeping form. He looked more peaceful than he usually does. It's like nothing in the world could ever hurt him. Sighing once more, you made your way to the kitchen to make some tea. Rain was now pouring hard outside your homey apartment — this was one of your most favorite weathers. You'd make tea and sit on the couch reading Jane Austen, just like the time Akaashi came 'round and brought dinner.

Akaashi.

It seems as if no matter what you do, your mind always wanders off to him. Was it time to confront your feelings? This was unusual of you. Even Osamu had noticed a change in everything you do. You grow nervous when you start to think of how you should tell Akaashi you were falling in love with him. Would he react badly? Would he say it was too soon? Your heart suddenly ached. You want nothing more than to make Akaashi happy.

Finishing up preparing your tea, you put it in your usual cup, making your way to the couch where your book sat comfortably on the coffee table. You opened it to the last page you were reading. The rain was still harsh outside, but it was drowned out with your thoughts and your book.

Just as you raise your cup of tea to your lips, an unnoticeable knock was heard from the entrance door. You furrowed your eyebrows. Who could be at your door at 7 pm when it was raining hard outside? It must be your neighbor's kid. He's been bugging you from time to time but it didn't really matter.

You timidly made your way to the front door, opening it to reveal Akaashi once more soaked in water. He gave you a sheepish grin. "I'm sorry I couldn't answer your call. I thought it was better to talk to you in person than over the phone."

You groaned, pulling him inside and closing the door behind him. You swore this was turning into a routine. If he did this all the time, he'd get sick sooner or later. "Keiji, you have got to stop doing this!" You exclaimed, taking off his coat. "I don't want to be blamed if you get sick!"

Your eyes trailed down to his hands, which held a plastic bag of yours and his favorite snacks and his bag that he'd bring if he stayed over night. "You're sleeping here? It's a school night, Keiji." You shook your head.

Akaashi only gave you a lopsided smile. He loved it when you acted so protective of him. It really showed how much you cared for him. "Do you not want me to stay, Y/n? I'll leave." He then turned his heel, indicating that he would do as he said.

"N-no, you idiot. You'll be drenched in rain. Stay." You rolled your eyes at how needy Akaashi was becoming. You still couldn't help but grin at it. Akaashi was soft only towards you and it made you feel superior over all the other girls that were head-over-heels for him.

You did what you usually do when he visited soaked in rain — you looked for clothes for him to wear, telling him to change so you'd hang his clothes to dry, and  prepared him a cup of tea. Only you didn't have to look for clothes, he brought his with him.

You plopped back on the sofa to read your book, but ended up being accompanied by your thoughts while Akaashi was changing and drying himself. Akaashi seemed to be comfortable in your apartment. It was as if he were living here as well and it made you blush at the thought that you two might look like a married couple if someone else suddenly came over. You didn't mind having anyone else see the two of you that way... It would be a dream come true marrying Akaashi.

You didn't want to emit "certified stalker vibes," but Akaashi was your dream guy. As a child you always thought of loving and being loved by someone just as good as Akaashi. You hoped you'd meet someone kind-hearted and smart and goal-driven and determined. Instead, you were given Akaashi, which was way more than you'd ever bargained for.

Your thoughts came to an end when you saw Akaashi enter the living room in his pyjamas. He looked absolutely adorable. "Hi, my love." He smiled.

Your breath hitched and your eyes widened, lowering the book that was in front of you. "Did you just... call me love?"

He chuckled at your nervous expression. "Am I not allowed to?"

You shook your head, setting your book on the coffee table in front of you. Akaashi leaned onto the wall, eyeing your actions. You sat yourself up straight, closing the book and placing it on your lap. "I don't want you to call me baby." You spoke sarcastically and Akaashi could hear that.

He smirked. "What shall I call you, then?"

You ponder in thought, tapping your chin before smiling at him. "You may call me princess on days you are most happy — just because it fits the feel." You giggled, putting a finger up for every said name he was to call you. "And when you are anxious, call me by my name and I'll be sure to be by your side." You now stood up, making your way to him. "When you are feeling tired, you may call me sweetheart. It seems quite cheesy but it does sound comforting."

"When am I allowed to call you my love, then?" He whispered, snaking his arm around your waist and resting his head on your shoulder. You wrapped your arms around his neck, and you two involuntarily swayed together, like two old, married couples who dance to their music in the living room.

"You may only call me love when you are completely, undoubtedly and undeniably in love with me."

There was a comfortable silence between you two. Not so much as to break your contact with each other. You both still swayed together, in each other's arms. You weren't nervous or scared that he hasn't said anything. In fact, you were afraid of what he was going to say. Akaashi brings his head up to face you, his expression now comforted you but deep down he was nervous. He smiled before kissing your forehead.

"And how are you tonight, my love?"
