Melanin Queen

You are beautiful just the way you are,
I know they scream about Black lives matter,
Yet they come talk straight to your face and insult you about your skin,
Let them talk, give them a cold shoulder,
I know it hurts,
But never forget,
You are a melanin queen,

They leave you depressed,
And feeling insecure about yourself.
The sad part is that,
Most parents also contribute in pulling us down,
Reminding us about our insecurities each and everytime,
Instead of teaching us how to love and accept ourselves from the time we are young.
