She was almost near death when Kokushibo had attacked and killed her family. She struggled very hard to not die, but ended up being turned instead of eaten. She eventually did, and promised she'd never harm them, only wanting blood bags, which Tamayo was a bit cautious at first but decided to oblige to her request. Years passed, Ninna did not harm Tamayo whatsoever, and upon finding Tanjiro, who was at first freaked out on seeing her, since she was a forming lower moon. She then discusses how she can be helpful to them on defeating Muzan, and how it will even benefit on turning her back into a human, months passed, through these times she gains first and becomes an ally for the demon slayer corpse.
