THIRTY-NINE

"For fuck sake Kai, if you wanted to make out you could have just asked me," Soobin blurted out, "it's like in the boyfriend contract."

Huening Kai cheeks grew incredibly hot.

"I know you are new to dating and relationships, but you can ask me for stuffs like that," he watched as Huening Kai picked on his fish, "it's not wierd and I don't mind doing it either."

Huening Kai turned to his food as he picked on it, "I didn't want to make out with him....he forced me, I had to."

"And you couldn't say no"

"I-I couldn't"

"And why not"

Huening Kai shut his eyes tight, there was no point keeping it in anyways.

"He threatened to hurt you, what did you expect me to do," Huening Kai finally lifted his eyes to Soobin's.

"Who?"

"Mang"

"See, I knew it, I knew that guy was no good, doesn't he know that you are in a relationship."

Kai nodded.

"Was he responsible for your bruises as well," Soobin stood, but Huening Kai grabbed his hands sitting him back down.

"Don't," he spoke, "I don't want him to know I'm here, and he isn't responsible for the.....bruises, my step dad was."

Soobin narrowed his eyes at Huening Kai, "start talking."

Huening Kai licked his lips before speaking, "after my mom and dad got separated, it really got to my dad because he lost his job at that moment, it got him really mad and he decided to let all his bottled up anger out and get physical with me, Mang always prevented him from making further damages to me with every chance he got....I actually thought he was beginning to change from the old ways he treated me but I was wrong."

"I don't really understand him.....I don't know what he wants from me or what he wants to do with me, one second he is being nice to me and the next he his trying to send me off."

"I didn't want to tell you because I didn't want to get you worried or get you in trouble, because I knew you would make drastic decisions."

"Then what changed, why did you suddenly conclude on running away, I thought you were going to endure it all," Soobin lifted a brow folding his lips.

"When you moved away from my touch multiple times, it hurt," Huening Kai spoke slowly, averting his gaze from Soobin once more, "I couldn't take  anymore of the ignoring, the yelling, the glaring and most of all I hated seeing you get hurt expecially if I was responsible for it."

"When you almost broke up with me......that was the final straw, I didn't know I was hurting you that much-"

"You are saying it as if I'm wrong to act that way, I was hurt," Soobin spoke, "I thought you were seeing someone else."

"I'm not saying you were wrong Soobin,* Huening Kai spoke, "I just didn't know it would get to you this way-"

Soobin stood hitting his fist on the table, "why the fuck won't it get to me when you are always on my mind Kai," Soobin stared intensely at Huening Kai, "I love you, Kai."

Huening Kai blinked back his tears, he didn't know if he was happy or sad, he had hoped and dreamt of Soobin uttering those  words to him and when it finally happens he isn't happy with it.
This isn't how he imagined Soobin would confess to him.

"I love you so much and if you are not going to take me seriously or reciprocate my feelings back then......" He looked at Huening Kai's teary eyes,".....then...."
