"I don't have a care for blood status, my best friend is half-giant." - Florence

September 1st, 1971

It had been only a few days since Florence had seen Hagrid, though she missed her new friend dearly.
Today was the day she had been waiting for, she would board the Hogwarts Express and finally be distanced from London and it's haunting memories. And she would see Hagrid again!

Bouncing up and down on the balls of her feet impatiently, her luggage case sat on the wooden floors next to her and a scruffy kitten under her arm. She was waiting for Professor Slughorn to hurry up and finish his conversation.

"Come on Professor, we'll miss the train." Florence complained.

You see Slughorn had agreed to take Florence to Kings Cross station for Hagrid was busy at Hogwarts preparing for the students arrival and Slughorn was catching the train so he could hold the start of year Slug Club meeting.

"Righty-o, best be off, lovely seeing you again Tim." Professor Slughorn said.

Climbing off the bar stool he walked over to the brown eyed girl.

"It's Tom," Tom clarified for what felt like the hundredth time in the past 30 minutes.

Florence giggled, "Bye Tom!"

Before Slughorn held her arm and she found herself being squeezed and squished. Ending as soon as it started she stood in awe of the magnificent steam engine in-front of her that she forgot the urge to vomit.

"Wow."

Her eyes were wide like saucers and the Professor couldn't help but let out a light chuckle.

"Now I must be off, Slug Club meeting you know, I'll see you in class Felicity."

She couldn't help but giggle, "Florence, sir, it's Florence."

"Ah– yes, right, well best be off."

The strange teacher was drowned in the crowds of students. Florence embraced the sight, but couldn't help but feel a little saddened as she longingly watched the loving mothers kiss there child's forehead and there fathers standing there with pride glimmering in there eyes.

She bit her lip and pushed through the throng of students and happy families, a man asked for her luggage and heaved it onto the train, pilling it with numerous other suit cases. Climbing onto the train Florence walked down the long carriage corridors, her fluffy cat was still gripped under her arm, clawing at her jacket. A novel tucked into her pocket.

Dodging older students she searched for an empty carriage. Finding one, she flicked the latch and slid the door open. Placing her cat, which she had decided to name Wolfgang after the famous musician Mozart, on the seat, she sat down and opened her novel Alice in Wonderland. Hagrid had bought it for her as a Birthday present and she couldn't of been more grateful.

He also spoiled her with numerous chocolate frogs, something her mother would of frowned upon, which made her love them even more. She loved chocolate, it was something she only ever received when her Gran snuck it into her coat pocket when ever she visited.

Clouded in her own thoughts she didn't even realise that the compartment door had opened and that a girl her age had poked her freckled face in.

"Hello, any chance myself and my friend can sit here?" She asked politely "All the other compartments are full."
