Chapter Twelve

"There is definitely not enough space in this van for all of us." Jimin said while trying hard to make more space for himself by moving around. The Hyung line was sitting comfortably at the front while the Maknae line and Jadeline were fighting for space amongst themselves at the back. There was less space in the back. This was the same van that looked creepy to Jadeline when she first saw it at the airport but now with all the members talking over each other and being loud the van felt different from before.

Jadeline was squished between Taehyung and Jungkook. She tried to continue avoiding Jungkook but it was hard to avoid someone who was always around you. She was constantly pushed against him by Jimin and Taehyung on her left trying to make space for themselves.

"What do you need more space for Hyung? You are tiny." Jungkook said to Jimin with a teasing smile on his face. Jadeline could not believe he would tease Jimin like that.

"Taehyung, how about you and Jadeline shift a little so I can smack his head. Do you wanna fight me big baby." Jimin asked Jungkook. He was making the most adorable faces at Jungkook.

"Come at me little man." Jungkook started doing boxing actions in the little space he had.

"Stop playing around in the back we are trying to talk to Sejin Hyung on the phone here and can barely listen to what he is saying with all the noise." Yoongi gave them a stern look which immediately made them both shut up.

"Is all this normal?" Jadeline asked Taheyung quietly. She was referring to Jungkook and Jimin's behaviour. She had assumed that with them being such big celebrities they must have that aura of calmness and coolness but instead they were just a bunch of chaotic young men acting like kids.

"Yup. And all this is just borderline normal. Our peak normal behaviour cannot even be handled by most people. We are a proud chaotic mess." Taehyung explained.

Jadeline was feeling more and more comfortable with them as time was passing by. And she had to give them credit they were making her feel included and at home.

But Jungkook's arm near her was not making her comfortable. He was wearing blue ripped jeans and a white t-shirt which made his arms look quite big and intimidating to her also a little hot if she was being honest. Jadeline was also wearing a t-shirt which was light green in colour and black jeans. Both their arms were bare and they kept rubbing against one another. It made Jadeline feel a little weird in her stomach especially after what happened in the morning. She felt warm where his arms were touching hers.

"I am sorry, I would move if I could but there isn't enough space. Also I am sorry for this morning" Jungkook said in her ear. His voice was low yet sweet almost melodic. It sounded so different from when he was threatening Jimin with a loud voice.

"Its fine. No problem. You did not know I would come out of my room at that exact moment. You know if you put your arms around me we will get more space to sit comfortably." She explained to him. Why did you say that Jadeline? Now he will think you want him to touch you. Jadeline mentally face palmed herself.

He nodded and put his arm around her but kept it respectfully on her shoulder. How sweet of him.

They reached their destination in the next ten minutes. It was nearly a forty minute drive from their home to the building. They directly went into big room on the second floor. It had mirrors from the ground up to the ceiling. And the first thing Jadeline noticed when she entered the room was that she had gained weight. She saw her reflection and could feel her cheeks chubbier than before. God, why did she always gain weight on her face and arms?

Hoseok introduced her to a few people who were their choreographers and dancers. Then she took a chair and sat in the corner while they started their practice. She was checking out colleges while they practiced. After some research she found the Seoul National University to be the best fit for her. A voice drew her attention. For an hour they practiced only the steps but now they had started to sing along with dancing.

They were singing a song whose lyrics were asking fans to focus on their jobs and studies to stop spending so much time on BTS and focus on themselves. Did this band really think about their fans wellbeing so much that they preferred their fans to focus more on themselves than BTS?

When Jungkook sang his part, Jadeline felt as if time had slowed down,

"I'm here to save you, I'm here to ruin you......I'm taking over you."

The lyrics felt so much more inviting from his mouth. Jadeline eyes were fixed on his every move. At the end they did a dance sequence, it was the only one in this song. Jungkook could feel her eyes on him. He turned towards her before he started to dance. 

He thought just like the morning she would move her gaze but she didn't. Now she was staring into his eyes. He kept dancing but did not shift his gaze as well. When the song ended she stood up abruptly and left the room.

Jungkook looked around to see if someone noticed them but thankfully everyone seemed oblivious to their little moment. He thought of following her to see if she was okay and ask her why she left but the next song started and no matter what practice always came first.

After all he was an idol.
