"Draco, what the hell is going on?" The first time I could have heard my voice in months, yet I still had to rely on my hands for communication. My wand was hanging limply at my side now that the immediate threat was determined to be Draco. This time last year, I wouldn't have been this generous.

"Merlin," his eyes widened and his left leg faltered slightly. I could hear the snap of a twig as he shifted his weight—tiny sounds, each a sign of something hidden beneath his skin. "I had just come to ask you the same thing. I heard you had quite the outburst in the Great Hall." He was trying to make light of the situation.

I tucked my wand back into the waistband of my trousers. Did he not know? He was the only person who knew about that potion, the only one that could have slipped it to me without knowing. If he didn't know, then maybe this was a whole lot bigger than anticipated. "Ok, you might want to sit."

Draco nodded, slightly confused, and crossed his legs in the grass. I set up a self-suspended Lumos so he could read my signs. "Draco I-," I had to pause slightly, best to rip the bandage off, "I can hear again."

A breeze caught some of his hair in the wind. He didn't even bother to fix it. "Did you... Did you take the potion?" I could see a bit of water creeping into his eyes. He quashed down the feeling as fast as it appeared, trying to maintain a neutral expression.

I swallowed, trying to think of the best way to explain a situation I didn't entirely understand. "I'm not sure, but I must have taken it," I fidgeted with my hands, "I didn't choose it. One minute I couldn't hear, and the next..."

Draco quirked an eyebrow, "I still don't understand."

"Draco," I started, "someone slipped the potion into my drink this morning." I looked away from him, the reality of another choice being taken from us settling into his shoulders. I couldn't bare to see him like that.

When I turned back, he was already staring at me. "Who could do such a thing? We didn't tell anyone else."

"That's the thing, I just don't get it." We sat in silence, the same way we always had, except now it felt different. I tried wracking my brain for anyone who could have found out. Maybe Ron or Hermione did it because they wanted me to be happy again. Maybe Mr A did it because he was fed up that we hadn't chosen yet? Or maybe-

I stood up, stumbling due to the fast shift in weight. I felt Draco grab my hand. "Harry, wait," He stood beside me, using my hand for leverage, "before you run off to try and save the world again, or whatever it is you do, I need to say I'm sorry. I should have just talked to you this past week. I didn't mean to"

I cut him off, smashing a kiss into his still-moving lips. A week of need and want melting together as two bodies pressed together. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Draco's voice. His goddamn drawl that used to make me want to punch him was now the one thing in the world I was agonizing to hear again. So I put my words into action instead, giving every sense of passion I had into that kiss.

I pulled away breathless and panting, "Don't you dare apologize. I will spend the rest of my life making that one argument up to you."

He smiled, "The rest of your life, then? What happened to 'You know we can't be together forever?"

I grabbed his chin, pulling his face even closer. "I've been wrong about a lot in life, but that... I will forever and always be proving that wrong."

"Forever and always huh? Did I read that right? What did I do, getting with the most impulsive person in the world? You're starting to sound like you're proposing to me, Potter." He replied cheekily.
