I walked hand in hand with Stephen who decided it was a good idea to walk me to school and back. It’s been about three months since we started dating and during the first two weeks, it was awkward and very difficult. I kept on running away and making excuses not to hang out with him because of my shyness and cowardness. A month later I began to get used to the idea of being with someone you like and always staying by their side, of course there were times I would still cover my face in embarrassment. Stephen, is someone you can’t forget, he’s always happy, energetic, loud, and very outgoing, the exact opposite of me. He’s someone who wants to be notice and center of attention.
“So are you going to run away from me again” he joked
“No” I rolled my eyes and blushed not being able to ignore the fact that our hands are locked together. We walked into the school’s gates and parted ways, I sighed in disappointment as I watched him walk into the classroom with a group of friends. Every second I spend with him the more I want to be with him and stay by his side. The more I’m with him , the more I fall in love with his ocean blue eyes and his wavy brown hair along with his scent that is a blend of fresh cypress and vetiver, reminding me of the cool ocean air.
“I love you” I whispered to myself as I stared at his classroom door holding my hand to the center of my chest.
Two Weeks Later
We sat in a movie theater eating popcorn as we watched the huge screen, Stephen holding my hand. Fifteen minutes later and the credits popped up going down as random people’s names were viewed one by one. We got up and exited the theater making our way towards his car and sat there in silence.
“Well that movie sucked” Stephen and I laughed and it got quiet again. “Do you wanna go somewhere else?” he asked.
“Um… sure, why not?” I smiled as he started the car’s engine and drove out of the parking lot. He drove into an abandoned building that was surrounded by trees, I gave him a questioning look and in response, he smiled.
“Where are we?” I asked.
“You’ll see” he parked and opened his door getting out “come” he walked towards the building full of vines and weeds, I swallowed and slowly got out.
“Why are we here? Is it safe to be here?” I said as I jogged towards him.
“I don’t know” he shrugged and took his phone out of his pocket activating the flashlight.
“How can you not know?” I said in a shocking tone.
“Just come on” he grabbed my arm and pulled me closer to the creepy building, my heart began to pound hard against my chest.
“I heard that five little girls died here” he began as we walked closer to the building.
“They said that five little girls were missing and later found them in the middle of the forest, dead. Some people say it was the little girl who did it, the little girl they found unconscious on the ground near a rock, along with the five buried dead bodies. Although there was no proof, seeing how it was raining and found her three days later, so they gave up in the investigation”.
We were standing at the staircase of the two story building, it was covered with vines and molding wood. I swallowed as Stephen walked closer to the door placing his hand on the handle.
“Wait!” I shouted unexpectedly.
“What’s wrong? You scared?” He teased, I gave him a worried look and closed my eyes shaking my head.
“Then what’s wrong?”
“It’s just… I have a bad feeling. I feel like, like there were bad memories here” I looked around.
