Shades from the Sunlight

The sunlight appears on the side you stand
Letting you see my colourful side
But blinding you from my other half
To which the sun is afraid of
The part that lives in the shadows
The part that completes me
But I’ll stay in the sunlight for your eyes
I'll walk painful miles
With innocent smiles
So you'll see only my joy
Because that's what you deserve to see
Because you deserve the feeling of making a difference
Even if the sun burns me
I'll let you see its colours
Because you are my sun
And even if you create my shadow
I'll accept the shade
And maybe one day
If I survive the burns you've given me
I can be your moon
Glowing in your absence
While your secretly present
As you brighten my skull
And fill it with your light
So I can guide you in the darkness
As you return the favour with more shade.
