Name: Cosette Louise Calment - meaning 'something that is small, tiny and little' in French. Her last name is also the last name of the oldest woman in history according to google who goes by the name 'Jeanne Louise Clament' and lived to 122 years and 164 days, born 21st February 1875 and died on the 4th of August 1997. Louise means 'Famous Warrior' in French, and Calment means 'Calm' in the same language. She may go my her middle name to make things easier in Amestris since her first name is rather foreign to them, it could also be mistaken for Lewis.

Alchemist Name: The Apollo Alchemist

Background:

Cosette is a modern day French student who excels in science, especially chemistry. She had been fascinated in the subject since she was a child and hoped to be able to advance technology and medicines. Before she could achieve this though, she dies, only to wake up again in a vast white space void of anything except a towering door with strange runes she's never seen before. She is eventually pulled through the door by strong hands and she wakes up in an unfamiliar world what seems to me in a different time. With no way to return home, she starts to work as a doctor with the knowledge she has because those who do not work, do not eat. She gathers information about the world she is in and leans about alchemy. After looking into it some more, she realises that with her knowledge from her advanced studies, it wold greatly help her in her life and maybe even help her get home. Practicing by herself, she realises that she does not need a transmutation circle to perform alchemy. While working as a doctor in her own personal clinic, her modern medicines are the talk of Amestris though she keeps her identity a secret most of the time and her clinic is only small. while she tries to keep out the spot light, rumour of her accomplishments and medicines circle around like a game of Chinese whispers and soon, many fake facts are perceived as truth. Cosette has no idea nor does she care, as long as she gets payed and can do her job, she's fine. Because of her young age, many costumers are weary of her treatments though always leave satisfied and because nobody believes such a young girl could do such miraculous things, nobody believes that she is so young with helps hide her identity. Cosette herself lives in Resembool where Edward and Elric live, though they don't actually meet often.

Suggestions:

Her Alchemist name 'The Apollo Alchemist' comes from the Roman god of healing 'Apollo'.

Cosette uses her alchemy to make medicines that would otherwise take weeks or even months to create. I remember in history that when they were first introducing penicillin that it took a long time to create and extract but the result was a small amount of the drug. We could also use the antibiotics created in Doctor Stone and the process to make them would be much quicker with Alchemy.

While this is an Edward fanfiction, I feel that if she is older, this can easily be made into a Roy / Scar or Jean fanfiction. so I may change this later to be one where the love interest is optional.
