*ੈ✰‧₊Darryl's POV₊‧✰ੈ*
'Still nothing..' I mumbled, setting my phone down and sighing after hearing yet another rejected job. I looked over at my friend Vincent, wanting some form of comfort or support. He didn't do anything, so I simply finished my statement, 'I guess I should start sending in more applications. I really hope someone hires me soon!'
-I think I might know someone who can get you a job actually.- Vincent said, a bit bored.
'Wait- Really?!' I exclaimed, overjoyed that there was a chance for me to finally get a job.
-Hm? Yeah.- Vincent replied, waving his hand dismissively like it wasn't a big deal at all even though it clearly was.
'Can I ask who?' I said. I could barely contain my excitement, but I wanted to act calm in front of Vincent. He wasn't thrilled, so jumping up and down like I desperately felt like doing would be embarrassing.
-Not important.- Vincent replied, looking at his phone.
'Oh.. Okay..?' I said, a bit worried that the job would be something illegal. I was desperate for a job, but not enough for me to steal or kill.
-I'm just going to tell him you want the job. Is that alright?- Vincent asked, glancing up at me, waiting for a response.
'Okay! Thanks Vincent!' I answered. Surely he wouldn't know someone who did illegal things, right?
-No problem! That's what friends are here for!- Vincent said, smiling.
I returned the smile and asked, 'What is the job about?'
-You'll see.-
I hesitated, the fear that I might be sent to kill someone returning, but I pushed the thought out of my mind and waved bye to Vincent, leaving him to do what he needs to do. A slightly worried smile shone brightly on my face as I left the room.

It is 2:16 pm, practically the best time of day for chatting, so I called Zak to tell him there was someone willing to work for him.
-Hello?- I replied, saying his name to confirm that it was him before I told him the news.
"Yes? Do you want something?" Zak asked.
-You still looking for a maid?- I questioned in reply.
"Yeah. This house isn't clearing itself!" Zak replied, chucking a bit at his own joke.
-I have someone willing to take the job-
"Oh really?! That's great!" Zak cut me off.
-Yeah, I know. It's a boy though.- I finished, a bit annoyed that he interrupted me.
"A boy?" Zak hesitated, clearly wondering if that was okay.
-.. Yeah..- I said in response. My eyebrows furrowed a bit because it almost sounded like Zak would say no to my offer. I didn't want to disappoint Darryl though, so I decided to continue, -Are you okay with that? He is a really great worker if that helps convince you!-
"I-mmm.. I'm okay with that. I need someone to help out, I can't be picky about who." Zak replied.
Relief washed over me. I wouldn't have to disappoint Darryl.
"What's his name?" Zak asked, curious.
-Darryl.- I answered. -When will he start?-
"Well.. he can start tomorrow actually. Only if that is okay with him though!"
-Mkay. Thanks Zak!- I said smiling even though I knew Zak couldn't see me.
"I should be thanking you!" Zak laughed in response.
I ended the call there, pleased.
Sure, Darryl was going to be surprised when I told him that the job, I got him was being a maid, but I'm sure he'll thank me eventually. He can't hold grudges for very long after all!
