Louis' POV
Death.
It's a funny thing really. You spend your entire life being afraid of it. Then it happens and it's just, a bit... boring to be honest.
Actually, the boredom I could handle, it's to be expected when you're invisible and stuck in a house I guess, but it's the loneliness that's a killer.
I've watched so many lives played out, they're all the same. No one realises how equal they are until they're dead.
No matter how special you think you are, no matter if you're the president of a rich country or a beggar on the street, we all end up the same way.
Death's a great equaliser because it doesn't give a shit. When your time's up, it's up and that's that. You can't complain to anyone and you certainly can't get a refund on a crap life.
It's kind of strange watching it from the other side though. Well, what little I can see of it, watching people waste a precious lifetime hating others based on race, religion, politics... Never realising that they're all essentially the same.
And they'll end up the same. Dead.
It probably only seems like five minutes ago that you were 10 years old and trust me, it'll only seem like another five before you're 91 and the grim reaper comes knocking for you.
It's what you do in between that counts, I know you've heard this a thousand times but it's true.
Stay up all night to watch the sunrise, dance in the rain, fall hopelessly in love.
Who cares if they're clichés? Do them anyway, because you won't understand how important it was to do those things until it's too late.
Trust me I know.
