AFTER WHAT HAPPENED the previous night, Evelyn hadn't spoken a word about it and neither did Lucien as he waited for the right time, but the problem was, Evelyn would avoid the subject whenever Lucien would bring it up which irritated him to the bone.
The Upgraded Original wanted to make sure she was alright and had no idea what to do now, seeing Evelyn went back in denial, but as he was being honest, Lucien had gotten scared by what had happened as he watched his fiancée break down in front of him, unable to breathe normally as she lost control. He could swear they had sat there for what felt like hours until the brunette was finally calm, but that didn't shake the dreadful feeling inside his chest away.
Over the years, both Lucien and Evelyn had gotten used to their mate bond, it made them feel everything the other person felt and sometimes it was very overwhelming, like last night for example. Evelyn needed to get used to the feeling that she not only felt her twin brother, but also her lover's feelings while Lucien had gotten used to the feeling of being a part of someone else, feeling her emotions, pain, simply everything, but what he had felt last night was something he never wanted to experience again. He could feel everything, the panic she had been feeling, the pain inside her chest, everything.
The two mates were currently at the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted to make sure Rosalie and Henrik would arrive safely before Evelyn would leave for Paris with Klaus to get Elijah back.
''Do you have everything?'' Evelyn asked as she squatted down in front of her children, placing the collar of Henrik's uniform into place. ''Yes, mommy.'' He answered with a smile and the female Upgraded Original gave the young boy a smile in return before she pulled him in her arms, giving him a tight hug.
As the brunette pulled away, she looked at both her children, grabbing their hands in hers and placed a soft kiss on them. ''I'm gonna miss you two while I'm gone.'' She said with a small smile. ''I love you.''
''I love you too.'' Both Rosalie and Henrik said at the same time which made Evelyn laugh softly, but quickly noticed the frown placed on her daughter's face. ''Mom...'' Rosalie started which made Evelyn look at her, the little girl was worried her mother would get hurt again just like when Hayley went missing. ''Please, be careful.''
Evelyn moved her hand over her daughter's cheek before saying, ''I will, sweety.''
The school bell rang which made Evelyn pull them in one last hug, but as the twins were ready to walk away, Lucien cleared his throat. ''Where is my goodbye hug?'' He said with a fake pout which made both Rosalie and Henrik giggle before they ran into their father's arms. ''Behave, Munchkins and no competitions with each other, okay?''
