chapter 2

Y/N POV
- after the little stare down we had i decided to break the silence
- "hi i'm y/n i'm guessing by ur excitement from before that pluto is urs" i smiled
- she kept staring at me and didn't respond to what i said it was kinda awkward
- "umm okay um" i nervously said with my lips closed tight 😐 looking down at pluto then back at her. she was still staring
- "are- are you okay?" i asked concerned
- she shook her head snapping out of whatever world she was just in responding with "uh yeah yeah pluto's mine haha" she laughed nervously
- "um are u sure bc u don't sound too confident abt it haha" i nervously laughed tryna break the tension
- "oh yeah sorry i was just thinking abt how u look so much like someone i used to know"
- "haha wow that's the first i've ever heard that. id say my face is pretty unique" i jokingly said
- she laughs but with some hesitation

ANNA POV
- what the hell it's literally y/n is this some kind of joke? she's acting like she doesn't remember me at all
- as she spoke to me i was speechless and was just staring at her which i know is creepy but i rlly had to make sure it was actually y/n and not some doppelgänger with the same name and same exact cute face that i fell in love with back then
- she made a joke which made me laugh but i couldn't help but think either she's playing this character so well or something might've happened back home that i wouldn't know of especially since we literally haven't spoke to each other for 3 years now
- "um so here's pluto back he's such a good boy i'm pretty sure i'm in love with him" she laughed while handing me the leash.
- i snapped out of my little world i was in bc things were getting too awkward i can feel it
- "haha he does have that affect on people" i responded
- she giggled and that made me smile her laugh reminded me of our good times back in michigan
- "welp pluto" she said crouching down
- "don't tell my boyfriend but u can hmu anytime for a doggie date and i'd drop everything for u" she said while cupping his face he licked her nose making her scrunch it as she giggled
- hold up woah woah boyfriend ?!? i widened my eyes in shock. what the actual fuck not to sound modest but id expect her to need 10 years to get over me.
- was what we had not special for her to get over me that quickly while also playing it off like she don't remember me?!? as she stood back up i quickly changed my face as if i was not screaming in my head right now
- "alright ima head out but it was very nice to meet u pluto aanddd...?"
- "anna. anna shumate"..... "ring a bell?" oh shit i said that out loud
- "ummm no not rlly haha sorry" she said with a forced laugh
- damn wtf i am so awkward
- "um but that is a pretty name :)"
- "aw thanks ha" i blushed
- "well it was very nice meeting u anna shumate, hope u have a great rest of ur day" she smiled and turned around walking away
- "wait! um do u maybe wanna um come over to my house just for a litttllee- uh a little thank u bc pluto could've been who knows where with a creepy stranger right now if u weren't here" i asked nervously
- "hmm okay i'm down but just real quick bc i gotta meet up with my bf tonight." she smiled
- "alright for sure!" i smiled hiding my pain
