Everone in the room looked at Coulson and Ward like they had gone mad. Hand got herself together first.

"If that's the case, then why isn't he in a cell or at least in handcuffs?" she asked, sending Ward a glare.

"If you want, you can try doing that Agent Hand but all you will do is alerting HYDRA." Ward answered.

"Wait, recap" Natasha said. "How long have you known this?"

"Since I joined SHIELD." Ward answered.

"Why now? What made you change loyalties?"

Ward took a brief look at everone in the room. It was clear everyone wanted to know that. But going in that territory meant telling the juvie, woods so he was going to deflect.

"I think the reason for that is unimportant considering the fact that HYDRA has completed the elimination list and are planing killing millions of people with Project Insight." he said.

While the majority was both horrified and confused as they had no idea about the project, Fury and Hill looked at each other.

"What is Project Insight?" Blake asked.

Ward pointed Hill and Fury and said "Ask them, they must know more about it as they support the project."

"Director Fury, care to enligthen us?" Gonzales said, tired of Fury's secrets.

"Project Insight involves three heavily armed, satellite-linked hellicariers that will strike out against potential threats before they happen." Fury said, leaving everyone their mouthes open.

"So SHIELD will become the judge, jury and executioner." Steve said, distaste clear in his voice.

"Wait, hellicariers?" Stark said and turned to Fury, anger clear on his face. "The designs you wanted me to improve, it was for this wasn't it?" Fury didn't say anything, he didn't need to. Stark's question was more of a statement.

"So, I literally helped HYDRA in their goal of creating the machines that will kill who knows how many people." Tony said, not just angry at Fury but also at himself. After Afghanistan, he had been doing his best about keeping an eye on his inventions but appearantly he hadn't been trying hard enough.

"Who proposed the project?" Weaver asked.

"Alexandre Pierce." Fury answered. "He is HYDRA too, isn't he?"

"He isn't just HYDRA, he is the current head." Ward answered.

"The Secretary of Defence is the head?" Hand said, gaping.

"How many people are on the elimination list?" Clint asked.

"I don't know for sure but I am sure every Avenger, SHIELD agent, consultant and supporter are on the list. The goal is to come on top. They won't let any threat survive. I don't know every HYDRA sleeper or SHIELD loyalist but there are those I am sure of their allegiances." Ward said and started telling every name he knew of and also including Garrett's involvement with the Centipede.

After he had finished, everyone looked like they had been stabbed in the back. In some sense they had been.

"So Garrett is HYDRA and in charge of the Centipede." Hand said, she was furious. She had talked with him before the meeting and the man acted like he was happy that Coulson was back, the Centipede had taken a major hit. When she got her hands on him...

"That serum can't be just for him." Blake said. Even though the Centipede's main goal was to keep him alive, there was no way HYDRA wasn't benefitting from it.

"In exchange for resources and cybernetic body parts that Cybertech's Hydra scientists designed that has kept him alive so far, Garrett will not only keep himself alive, he will also create super-soldiers for them." Ward explained.
