Outdoor. What a fun word. I first got into color guard because my mom asked me if I wanted to do color guard, because she saw the high school was letting seventh graders into color guard. I said yes.
Color guard camp started in July but I was not ready, so I started in August instead. We had a guard of nine, eight girls (including me) and one boy.
My first day I didn't know anybody. It was honestly scary. It took me a while to get used to everything. For a while, I didn't have gloves. That was rough. And also for a while, I had a faulty bag that carried two flags, a rifle and a sabre. The zipper that held the bag together was broken, it was bad.
I was the first to get an upgraded bag, because, like I said, mine was broken. It was much better.Practices were rough. I cried at half of them, especially at sectionals.
When we met up with the band, I was super excited. The next chapter is all about that.
