Chapter 7: The Rise of Doomsayer

The Autobots paused before they started to tell Orion Eclipse about Starscream and Shockwave as they gather around in a group for exposition. First, they talk to Orion Eclipse about the seeker, Starscream.

"Starscream is...was the second-in-command of the Decepticons while they were under Megatron's rule." Bumblebee began as he spoke to Orion, "He initially seeks to usurp control of the Decepticons from Megatron, but five years ago, Starscream had been captured and tortured by the vengeful Predacons, Skylynx, Darksteel, and Predaking, before he eventually escaped from the citadel fortress of Darkmount where Megatron once ruled before his exile. Starscream is known for his reputation as a traitor and a coward with a lust for power."

"How did he managed to escape?" Orion Eclipse asked.

"Probably found the keys to his cage before he made himself free as a bird." Smokescreen said.

"Nobody knows where Starscream is right now, but we do know that both he and Shockwave are still one the loose. As for Shockwave, he is a Decepticon lead scientist and tends to be "logical" with his reasons, choices, or with his own experiments." Bumblebee said as he began to talk about Shockwave. "Shockwave is a skilled fighter and he is responsible for many scientific endeavors, such as Space Bridges, the Dinobots, resurrection of the Predacons, construction of the Omega Lock 2.0, and with Ratchet, the completion of the Synthetic Energon formula. We believe that he went back to his old lab after Megatron disbanded the Decepticons and it's highly presumed that Shockwave is still on Cybertron, yet we're still searching for him."

"If you don't know what both Starscream and Shockwave looked like during the war's end, here are some files that we saved on them," Ironhide said to Orion Eclipse before showing him holographic images of the Decepticon usurper and scientist.

Orion Eclipse could see that Shockwave is a Decepticon scientist with just one eye like he's a Cyclops and when he saw the image of Starscream, he could see him as the small, and skinny seeker with jet wings, sharp claws, red eyes, and high heels which Orion found a bit inappropriate, almost amusing. But he could tell that the Autobots are searching for them, but he doesn't know why so Orion Eclipsed asked the Autobots.

"Why are you searching for these two? Clearly, they've might've moved on after the war's end you mentioned."

"You don't know about the Great War? Would you like to know how it all began and how it ended five years ago?" Hot Rod asked.

"Please, do tell me. I don't know about the Great War. I'm not sure if I even remember it." Orion Eclipse answered.

Bumblebee took a deep breath before he explained the Great War to the young bot, "The Great War was the first and most violent outburst of fighting on the planet Cybertron between the Autobots led by our late leader, Optimus Prime, and Decepticons led by the warlord, Megatron. It all began when Megatron started his first drive to overthrow the Caste system. But then his hatred and jealousy corrupted his noble goal of being a Prime over his friend Orion Pax who was named the next Prime..." he stopped when Orion Eclipse interrupted him.

"Orion Pax?" Orion Eclipse asked.

"That would be Optimus' old name in his younger days before he became a Prime." Ratchet answered.

"Wait, Optimus Prime's name was Orion, too? Just like my first name?" Orion Eclipse asked.

"Yes, something like that." Smokescreen replied before he looked at Bumblebee. "Bumblebee? Please continue," he said.

"This set the spark in the war, and the Golden Age became history over time. Fighting between the two factions lasted for several million stellar cycles, not even those who chose to be Neutral could avoid the war." Bumblebee proceeded, "Near the end, Cybertron was a barren, lifeless wasteland, devoid of Energon, forcing Orion Pax who later became known as Optimus Prime to enact the Great Exodus, a mass evacuation of all Cybertronians to leave their dying world and find other planets to seek refuge. After the War on Cybertron, Optimus Prime went with his Team to Earth, where they faced another battle against the Decepticons. The war came to a close when Megatron's spark was finally extinguished back when I was an Autobot scout. After reclaiming the AllSpark, Optimus returns to Cybertron to find Unicron attacking the planet, and he sealed the Chaos Bringer away. Optimus then sacrificed himself to restore the AllSpark to the Core of the planet, while the revived Megatron dissolves the Decepticon movement. In the aftermath of our planet's restoration, we built a statue in honor of Optimus Prime, who was not only a great leader but a good friend."

"So, what happened afterward? If I remember correctly, the spirit of Optimus Prime said that the Decepticons have rallied to a new leader who wants to threaten both worlds of Cybertron and Earth! Not to mention that he said that I'm your chance at stopping the Decepticons from starting maybe a second great war?" Orion Eclipse asked.

"We do not know who the new leader of the Decepticons could be, but if he is far worse than Megatron, then we must be ready." Bumblebee replied.

Ultra Magnus was having a council meeting with the Autobots and they were about to discuss what to do now that they have The Sword of Primus when suddenly something began to seize control of the computer systems, and every screen around the Autobots base was glitching.

"Dad! Something's wrong." said the femme Autobot officer, Strongarm. Ultra Magnus and the council looked upon the large screen as it continued to glitch before it showed a dark image of a strange, yet familiar Decepticon, and tension begins to rise in the atmosphere of the Autobot base.

Ultra Magnus and his Autobots were shocked when they saw none other than...Doomsayer!

"Hello, Autobots." Doomsayer said through the computer screen.

"You!...but it can't be." Ultra Magnus said in shock.

"Oh, but it can be, Ultra Magnus. It really can!" Doomsayer replied.

"How are you still alive?! W-we thought that you and your followers were..." Wheeljack asked.

"Gone?!" Doomsayer said out loud before he cackled, "Fools! Did you honestly believe that Megatron would have me and my troops banished from Cybertron forever?! That we'd be corpses covered in space rust while floating in space?! HAHAHAHA!!!"

"What are you doing here? What do you want?!" Said Ultra Magnus.

"To restore Unicron to his former glory and to help him be rid of Primus once and for all...by destroying both Cybertron and Earth!" Doomsayer answered.

"And to fulfill our revenge against you as well as Megatron! AHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Starscream said in the background of the video.

"STARSCREAM! I told you to be quiet!" Doomsayer scolded the seeker.

Starscream gasps and he shuts up to show some respect to his new master. "Sorry." He said.

"As I was saying before being RUDELY interrupted"; Doomsayer said shooting a brief glare at Starscream before turning back to the Autobots. "My plan is really simple to understand, as the Herald of Unicron; I intend to restore my master and aid him against his foe. There is however something that I need for those plans, something you foolish Autobots have sealed away... My master's Anti-spark"; Doomsayer explained. "Don't play stupid, I KNOW you have it, you've had it ever since your fool of a leader became nothing"

"Yes... we have it alright" Ultra Magnus sternly walked towards the screen, glaring at the Decepticon. "We have it and you would be wise to keep Optimus Prime's name out of your mouth"; Magnus stated. All the Autobots in the room regained their composure and began to stare down the smug face of Doomsayer. "And we have no intention of giving it to you"; Strongarm stated.

Doomsayer merely chuckled at the defiance. "Ah, it's good to see that the Autobots still have a bit of fight in them even after the deactivation of their beloved pile of scrap metal;" the Decepticon taunted. "It's a pity that it will not save them this time... Nor their precious leader. Therefore I, Doomsayer, leader of the New Decepticon Empire; hereby challenge you to come to our headquarters in the Badlands so we may show you our might!"

As the screen darkened and the silhouettes of the Autobots disappeared, Doomsayer got up walked down the corridor. With Starscream who had a puzzled look on his face following close by.

"Fools"; Doomsayer snickered. "This is just too easy."

"But... sir?"; Starscream began to question. "Our base is not located in the Badlands... you've only directed the Autobots to nowhere".

But before he says anything else; Doomsayer angrily turned towards; Starscream, causing him to flinch.

"OF COURSE I DIRECTED THEM TO NOWHERE YOU IDIOT!!!" Doomsayer shouted at the now frightened Starscream. "The location I gave them is the site of the destroyed Omega Lock!!!"; he then put his arm around Starscream explained in a more calm and sinister tone. "Ultra Magnus and his forces may think that they're marching on our front door. But in truth, they'll be marching into a trap! And when they realize that they've been tricked, they'll be ambushed by our troops, decimating their forces where they stand!"
