Yesterday's meeting went well with my uncle and cousin occasionally trying to undermine me and my father. Alison and Amanda spent the time shooting daggers at each other and I'm not sure if it was because of Mandi's position or that she got the better Bieber.
When grandpa announced Mandi's position I could see how shocked yet pissed my cousin became and my uncle wasn't afraid to voice his skepticism but we expected it so we showed him no emotion.
Of course they tried to argue that Alison should hold the position too but my grandfather made it clear that Bieber Global doesn't need two creative directors as that would cause for tension and disruption in the smooth running of the administrative board of the company.
Gramps also let it be known that if Mandi chooses she may very well decide that Alison's talents are inadequate and fire her from the Canada branch but my girl isn't that catty and I know even if she does feel the girl is lacking, she'll let her stay on.
On the other hand, I've been reading these baby books since we got home from dinner last night. Mom wanted to celebrate all of us being together again so we all went out but I secretly knew she wanted to celebrate Mandi's pregnancy.
The world is gonna get a kick out of this one.
"So the baby isn't called a baby till eight weeks?" I ask Mandi who's at the desk in our hotel office making floor plans
She giggles "I guess so, don't ask me why cause I couldn't tell ya"
I nod "It's weird to think that we all started out as a bunch of cells"
She nods "Science"
I chuckle "So what do you think of Alison?"
She inhales deeply "Well, I don't know I just met her"
"True but first impressions?" I ask
"First impressions," She pauses "I think the girl is in way over her head."
"Really?" I muse
"Yeah, I mean she might be good with the interior design of a house or a single office but an entire company? No I don't see it."
"So should we fire her?"
"No, I believe your cousin gave her that position because I was your assistant and he wanted to one up you by having a fiancée who's an interior designer for his branch."
I nod thoughtfully "You're probably right"
I suddenly realize it's unnaturally quiet in the suite
"Where's Bellah?" I ask
"Napping" Mandi tells me
"Oh."
She chuckles "Yeah I have to set her up with a doctor asap"
