Atsumu observed his best friend with an affectionate gaze.
He didn't even know he was staring at her so fiercely until someone elbowed him.
"Atsumu-San, you're staring again."
Hinata chimed with a teasing smile.
Atsumu looked down at the shorter male,
and an irk mark appeared on his forehead.
His eyebrow twitched, and his jaw tightened.
"You really didn't have to point it out."
Atsumu crossed his arms, an indignant expression crossing his features.
Hinata chuckled,
"I'm just trying to save you the embarrassment of getting caught."
Atsumu's cheeks flushed,
His eyes again diverted to his best friend.
His posture was tense, and he couldn't consciously make himself relax.
"I hate this.
I know I got a way with words,
but whenever she's around I get all tongue tied.
It's stupid!"
Atsumu huffed.
Hinata really liked to see this side of Atsumu.
The ginger could see that the setter didn't know how to sort out his feelings for his sun kissed friend.
Having been friends with her for the longest time,
Hinata assumed that Atsumu was having a hard time believing his heart's desire.
A thought suddenly struck Hinata, and he bit his lip with worry.
He frowned, and chose his words carefully as he dared to question the blond.
"Are you not making a move on her because she had a huge crush on... your brother?"
Hinata cringed at the words coming out of his mouth.
"M-maybe."
Atsumu shrugged, looking away from Hinata.
Bingo,
Hinata thought.
But before Hinata could say anything to that,
Bokuto beat him to it.
"That's pitiful dude.
Not trying to say I knew your brother enough to discern this, but I bet he'd probably, MOST LIKEY, be disappointed in you."
Bokuto pointed out with a fixed glare.
Atsumu turned to look at Bokuto with confusion,
"What're you gettin' at?"
"Well weren't you guys always rooting for each other? I don't think this'd be any different.
If you really like the lady, I say go for it!"
Bokuto put up a thumbs up,
and Akaashi hit him upside the head.
Bokuto rubbed his head and pouted.
"Agasheeeeh"
Bokuto whined.
Akaashi rolled his eyes,
"Pardon his lack of tact with words Atsumu-San.
Bokuto-San tends to speak his mind without a proper filter."
Akaashi glared at Bokuto,
and glanced at Atsumu with an apologetic gaze.
Atsumu chuckled,
"Been knew that for a while now.
No worries Akaashi-San.
I guess Bokuto's right."
Atsumu's attention returned to the girl whose hands worked meticulously on shaping the onigiri rice into a triangle.
Atsumu further inspected Izumi's small delicate hands. He smiled when he noticed a small little sun print on each of her nails, and then on her pinky, the print of a snowflake. It seemed out of place, but Atsumu knew that Izumi loved symbolism.
