BELLAMY BLAKE

ALL NIGHT we had been preparing for war. Building fox traps and setting landmines for the grounder army that was inevitably coming. Y/N was helping Raven put down landmines as I approached, making sure Raven was positive these would work.

"I want this whole field done by morning, and then the south field." I ordered Raven.

"No, Bellamy, we're going after Finn, Clarke, and Monty in the morning." Raven argued, getting off the ground and approaching me.

Y/N also stood from where she had placed a landmine and brushed off her jeans. "I told you this last night."

"And I told you, nobody leaves this camp. Especially you." I ordered them both, but stressing the order on Y/N. I started to walk away, Y/N walking after me and starting to argue again.

"I'm talking to you. We can't just abandon our people. If you want to lead them, show them you actually give a damn." Y/N expressed, her words growing quieter. Before I could form a rebuttal, a gunshot had rung through the camp.

I stormed to the wall where it had come from and the kid had started to apologize. "I'm sorry, I fell asleep and it just went off. I've been on watch all day."

I grabbed him by the jacket and spit in his face. "We've all been on watch all day! That was one less dead grounder."

Octavia and Y/N were close at my sides and I could feel a majority of the camp watching the altercation.

"Stop it, Bell. You're scaring him." Octavia warned me.

"They should be scared!" I yelled through the camp, trying to get it through their heads that the grounders were coming and we needed to stay focused. "This camp is the only thing keeping us alive."

I looked around at the campers that were left, catching eyes with Y/N and Octavia. They all look scared, and I didn't want them looking back at me and seeing that I was scared too. They needed a leader, and without Clarke, I needed to fulfill that role.

"Get back to work!"

I was in the dropship, going over tactics to fight off the grounders when someone walked in. I looked back to see Jasper and just by the look on his face, I knew what he was here to discuss.

"Do you think I don't want to go after them too?" I challenged. "I'm doing what I think is right for the group." Jasper stood still in the doorway and Y/N had come in behind him, overhearing the conversation.

"You didn't think that way when Octavia went missing." She had said it so calmly, yet seemed surprised when it came out of her mouth. "And you wouldn't think that way if it were me out there."

Y/N had started to walk away from me, toward Myles to clean his wounds and Jasper had also begun to walk away. "Where are you going?" I asked, not yet finished with our conversation.

"More gunpowder for your minefield, sir." Jasper said as he mockingly saluted me and made his way up the ladder without another word.
