How you held me close when it was cold
Soft and warm flesh on mine
How you always begged to hold my hand
And to lay your lips upon mine
Perhaps I was a damn fool
Neglecting your sugar and pain
Too selfish to look at the missing parts
Pretending there was no burning in my heart
And I admit we were never a pair
As I hold into the sorrow and ache
Trying to forget the way you looked
Trying to rip my heart out and shed a tear
So I can stop loving you the way I do
So I can forget how I felt when I was with you
