Anger coursed through Cara's pale blue eyes, her nose scrunching up as a low growl echoed through the room. "Never said you were." Lauren ignored the outburst, her words followed by a raspy chuckle. A sly smirk made its way onto her face, and the young vampire leaned close to the blonde seated on her bed. Before Cara could pull away, icy hands were on her knees, pinning her in place. The anger drained from her face in an instant. Lauren's voice was low, her mouth almost brushing against Cara's lips with each word. "You're just the guard dog." Lauren's body crashed into the wall with a harsh thud, Cara's hands gripping her shoulders roughly. A dull ache spread through the vampire's chest where Cara's palms had slammed into them, her back already bruising from the impact. Or it would have, had her heart been beating and her blood still coursing through her veins. "I'm not a fucking dog." Another growl formed in the younger girl's throat. "And I'm not a fucking punching bag." Lauren spat, shoving the young blonde away from her. "Hands off." *****
