*This was posted before, even won a few awards. I am reposting after a serious re-edit.* Appalachia is full of a lot of things that people can't explain, including wolf shifters. They live as human for the most part but stick to themselves. Jody Jacobs used to be proud of what he was, but something has driven him over the edge and into the waiting arms of a fanatical fundamentalist church. But underneath the facade of upstanding and well loved church leader, Jody hides his dirty secret carefully, and preaches a message of hate and intolerance against his own kind. The message he spreads is complete control, abuse, and domestic violence veiled as the word of God. Jody's son, Elijah, is coming of age. Can Jody keep his true identity hid and keep him from changing or will the beautiful Alpha female, Lillith, be the catalyst that brings out the alpha hidden in Elijah? The two of them must decide if their bond is trong enough to mate for life and face the war that is coming to the hills as the Church attempts to exterminate the shifters among them. *Topics will include abuse, violence, and religious trauma. This may be triggering for some audiences.*
