Dreams are the greatest power of mankind. In our waking hours, we dream of more, imagining our futures as they teeter on hopes, hard work, and a little luck. But when we sleep, our subconscious mind takes over, and it is a beast that cannot always be tamed. It takes that which is strongest inside of us and unravels it. In that world of dreams, we can have all the power. Or we can have none. And few can choose the path they walk in the realm ruled by our deepest desires and fears. Heidi Vanders wakes in a world that no longer belongs to anyone. Humanity wanders in a daze, lacking sentience or hope, and she alone remembers the world that stood before. At first, she stumbles into a land of fantastical monsters and magic in hopes that she can return home, but the deeper she dives into the dream, the harder it is to get out. To return to reality, Heidi must wake from the land of dreams, but to do so is to crush all those who thrive there. How does one choose whose dreams matter most? Who is worthy of the life they live? Or what world deserves to exist at the cost of the other? Chaos reigns in a world wrought from the dreams and nightmares of humanity, and Heidi has but a single choice. Wake from the nightmare. Or Give in to the dream. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ONC Prompts: Main Prompt 52. "And that is how that world was lost and a new one, our world, was born." Sub Prompts 24.
