All I've ever wanted was to live a happy and normal life. One where the parents were only strict because they cared, and one where the home smelled of cookies every Sunday afternoon. But my life isn't happy. Instead of the smell of cookies I come home to a face full of smoke from burnt out cigar butts. Instead of strict parents I come home to laid back parents who only care if the fridge is full of beers or not. My sister was the only reason I hadn't left by now. I turn 18 in a few months, I could've taken her and we could've survived together. But the big people behind all those doors didn't think so. They took her away destroying any chance of a happy and normal life we had. Or perhaps they're making it easier to reach.
