Murray Stinson, senior human resources officer at MultiCorp, doesn't like Fridays. That's when layoffs at the company occur. The meetings have become routine over the years: quick, soul crushing, involving a fair amount of crying, and leaving him feeling like a destroyer of worlds. It's for this reason that Bill Morris, Analyst, will be Murray's last layoff. Ever. The destroyer of worlds, two months into his fifty-second year, will retire. But Bill Morris is different. He suffers from a peculiar deformity, one that has been making his co-workers uncomfortable and one that the company insists he cover up if he wants to remain employed. But Bill doesn't want to hide anymore. He wants to be treated like everyone else and what Murray will come to realize is that this particular layoff, his last, will be anything but routine.
