He stares at me like he could see right through me. His eyes are giving away is anger, even when his face is not. "Why did you lie?" He asked softly. "Why did you lie, Hayley?" -------------- "No. I don't want to believe that." He said while shaking his head before he turns to me. "I don't want to believe that every time I asked you about your past, you fed me a lie. So tell me the truth, Fiona. Did you lie to me?" --------------- Two completely different girls, with completely different pasts. Somehow they have this one thing in common. Lies. They both lie to survive. They lie to save themselves from pity looks, from scowls, from glares, from hate. Because at the one of the day, a lie can indeed save a life, while truth can destroy one.
