Since then, I've tried my best to become closer to Nozomi. She's been kind to me since I came here and is the first friend I've made here.

One day as class was ending, we were given a career survey. As I looked at it, I muttered to myself, put it in my bag, then left the classroom. I headed to the courtyard because I found a spot kind of out of the way for when I want to be alone to think about things.

I soon reached my destination, an area of the courtyard kind of in the corner and with a green canopy of trees. I sat down and leaned back against a tree before closing my eyes to focus entirely on my thoughts. I have no clue what I want to do in the future. I mean yeah, there are plenty of jobs I could do, but since I'll be spending so much of my life doing it, I want it to be something I can passionately do.. But while I have some hobbies, I don't have anything I'd consider myself passionate about.

Maybe I should just give up on that and become a salaryman or something? I then shook my head, that kind of job feels like something soul-crushing and depressing and I don't want that for myself.

As I sat under the tree and due to the cool shade, I began to doze off a bit. I've always been a bit of an insomniac so I end up taking naps or just dozing off during the day.

Soon enough, I woke up to the feeling of someone tapping me on the shoulder. I open my eyes, and my sunlight is blocked by the sight of Nozomi. The sight of her here makes me think about why she's here, normally she's with Ayase and the rest of her friends in Muse during lunch.

Soon enough, I came to a conclusion, and as I started to get up, I quickly asked her "What time is it? Am I late?"

Nozomi smiled and said "Relax, lunch isn't over yet. I was wanting to see what was wrong since you seemed off as you left the classroom."

I relaxed and returned to the position I was in before and sighed before saying "Are you sure you wanna hear about it? I don't want to bother you with my problems..."

"We're friends right? If you have a problem, I'll listen to you." Nozomi said.

"Okay, if it won't be a bother then I'll tell you." I said before sitting up and continuing "It's about the career survey. Since I'm gonna spend a large chunk of my life doing something, I want it to be something that I'm passionate about and I'll enjoy. The problem is that I don't have anything in particular that I'm passionate about and I'm kind of frustrated about it."

"Don't worry, I'm sure you'll figure it out eventually." Nozomi reassured me.

"Thanks Nozomi. I just wish I had some idea of how I could figure it out already." I responded.

Nozomi then smiled and said "I think I might be able to help with that. Let's head to the classroom. I have something that I think might be able to help in my bag."

Curious as to what Nozomi meant, I got up and began to walk beside her. Once we reached the classroom, Nozomi gestured for me to move my chair by her desk as she searched through her bag. I pulled my chair over and sat down and saw that Nozomi had in her hands a deck of cards with a pattern of blue and light blue diamonds in a checker pattern.

"What are those?" I asked.

"They're tarot cards. I'm gonna read your future and see if I can give you any advice." Nozomi answered.

"I didn't know that you could read fortunes." I remarked

"I do and the cards don't lie." Nozomi said.

"Okay, if you think you can help me then feel free to give it a shot." I said to her.

She then began to draw cards from the deck. She first draws a man with a knapsack followed by a card of a man with his arms crossed and nine cups arched above his head.

"So the fool followed by the nine of cups would suggest that your wish would be fulfilled in an unexpected way." Nozomi explained to me before continuing.

She then drew a card with a man holding something above his head with a table in front of him that had a cup, a sword, a branch, and a pentagram. Then she drew a card of a hand holding a branch. Then she drew a card of a man and a woman together with a tree with a snake in it behind the woman.

"The magician and the ace of wands would suggest manifesting your potential. And the ace of wands being followed up by the lovers would suggest the growth of a relationship."

She then drew another card, a man and a woman both holding cups as two winged snakes coiled around each other rose upwards from between the cups. She then smiled to herself before saying "What that last card adds to this, I'll tell you at a later point."

"Why not?" I asked.

"That's a secret." She said to me.

"Okay I'll believe there's a reason why so I won't pry. Still if your fortune telling is right it's saying something about I'll realize my potential as a relationship grows. I'm guessing you won't be able to gleam anything more than that?" I said

"I could try to find out more but I feel like that would be the wrong choice. And I promise that the cards don't lie." Nozomi replied.

"Okay, thanks Nozomi. I'm still gonna think about it as I did before, but I'll definitely keep what your fortune telling in mind." I answered.

"I'm glad I could help." Nozomi replied before the bell signalling the end of lunch rang out. Me and Nozomi then talked a bit more until class began.

A/n: The High Priestess is a card that in it's upright state is connected to sacred knowledge which I felt fit in well with Nozomi using the tarot in this chapter. In it's reversed state it means being disconnected to intuition, which I felt could work with Y/n not knowing what to do with his future, and it also means secrets like the secret Nozomi is now gonna be holding onto which will be brought up again and revealed later on.

Nozomi's tarot reading was based on the little I could figure out about tarot readings from quite a bit if research into how such things are done but I think it might have turned out okay. I'd love to hear what you guys thought about it.

Sorry there hasn't been a chapter in a bit, I've explained what's up in announcement so I won't go into more detail here but I'm gonna try to squeeze out a bit more before the end of the year. The meaning of the next chapter I just realize don't fit into my plans as much as I first thought so I'm gonna have to give that some thought too.
