Aftermath

Shénguāng's POV

"Jeez... 6:45 pm... I'm getting home late, hope Shēnyuān is alright with that." I said to myself, looking at my watch, while driving back home.

After a deep sigh, I heard my phone notify me about someone messaging me, and when I checked who it was, I saw the message was from Rito.

I then pulled over to the side of the road and checked the messages Rito sent me.

"Hey, Shēnyuān's home safe and sound." The first message said. "Asked him a few things as well, guess it's like a 50/50 on school." The second message said and I started to type.

"Alright, thank you again for doing this, I'll keep my end of the deal and pay you at the end of the week." I replied, getting a message back after a few seconds.

"No problem, he's also quite used to talking to me now, not sure if that's important or not, but I think it'll be useful." Rito replied making me smile. "That's good, he's opening up more." I messaged back, and continued driving back home.

After a few minutes, I finally arrived home, noticing our parent's car is no longer in the garage. "They left? Did they take Shēnyuān with them or is he there alone?" I asked myself getting out of the car and walked towards the door.

When I reached the door, I noticed the first floor was completely dark, but there was a single light upstairs.

As I entered the house and turned on the lights, I noticed Shēnyuān's empty bag on the couch and a note on the table. "Me and your father have more work, Shēnyuān's upstairs reviewing, there's dinner on the table for you and Shēnyuān. Don't forget to sleep early, there's still school tomorrow." The note said and I sighed. "Well, that explains why the light upstairs is on."

I then put my bags down and headed upstairs to check on Shēnyuān. When I got to his room, I knocked waiting for a response, but got nothing. "Is he here?" I asked myself as I opened his door slightly, seeing him on his desk sleeping peacefully.

"Oh... You fell asleep trying to review..." I said shaking him slowly, trying to wake him up. "Shēnyuān, wake up, it's time to eat." I said softly, getting a yawn from Shēnyuān.

"Mmm... What? Oh, you're back... Yay~" Shēnyuān mumbled still drowsy. "Sorry I came home late, I got into traffic and I had to do some extra schoolwork." I apologized looking at Shēnyuān's tired little face.

"That's alright... I had Rito to keep me company for a while, then I reviewed to keep me busy." Shēnyuān replied trying to stand up.

"Oh yeah, mom and dad are out right now, so it's just us here." I said and Shēnyuān nodded. "Alright, so what do you want to do?" Shēnyuān asked standing up from his desk.

"Well, we could have dinner and talk about your day, if you're alright with that of course." I said and Shēnyuān nodded. "Yup, I don't mind eating, I'm getting a little hungry anyways." Shēnyuān giggled and headed downstairs as I followed.

We then sat down and started to eat. "Rito said he asked you a few questions... So, what did he ask?" I questioned Shēnyuān and he looked at me from across the table. "He asked me about how my day of was, any trouble with the students, and if I can continue doing this for the rest of the year."

"Ah, well can you tell me how your day was?" I asked as we continued eating. "It was just introductions, so it didn't really feel like class." Shēnyuān replied continuing to eat.

"Oh, well, what were you doing? I know you don't listen well even though your grades are high." I said and Shēnyuān smiled. "I was reading a book the whole time, wrote a few things as well, but not that important."

"Oh? What did you write?" I asked calmly. "Teacher's name and their subject they teach." Shēnyuān said with a sigh.

I then asked. "Is something bothering you Shēnyuān?" Making Shēnyuān look annoyed. "I don't like being asked questions a lot." He replied.

"Ah, I forgot you can't stand it when your asked too much." I mumbled. "Well, that's alright, I won't ask anymore questions for tonight, we'll just be relaxing." I added which made Shēnyuān smile.

"Thank you for understanding... Well, I'm done with dinner, do you mind helping me review later? I'm having problems with Science." Shēnyuān asked and I nodded. "Yes, just tell me what you need help with, but why review a lot now?" I replied and Shēnyuān shook his head.

"I have nothing better to do, so I might as well study." Shēnyuān said as he picked up his plate and walked to the kitchen sink.

"So what are you reviewing anyways?" I asked and Shēnyuān looked back. "Speed, Distance, and Time... I don't really get the formulas" Shēnyuān sighed and I chuckled.

"Alright, just wash your dishes, take a shower, get in something comfortable, then get your books, I'll be upstairs to help you when you're done." I said and continued to eat my meal.

After some time Shēnyuān walked upstairs and I got another message from Rito. "Oh yeah forgot to ask, does Shēnyuān actually have an AI? He was talking about it on the way back and it got me interested." The message said and I started typing.

"Yeah, it's programmed to be like a stress bot, Shēnyuān uses it to calm down and have some fun." I replied back.

"Ah, so is it alright if I come to your house on Saturday or something? Shēnyuān said it's alright and I'm quite curious with this program of his." Rito messaged and I smiled.

"That's alright, I'm sure Shēnyuān would like the praise you'll give him." I replied, then hearing Shēnyuān shout. "Big brother! I'm done already! Are you coming up or not!?"

I sighed and shouted back. "Yeah! I'm coming, just give me a second!" I said messaging Rito one more time.

"I need to go, Shēnyuān wants me to help him review and he's getting impatient." I sent before running up the stairs and started to teach Shēnyuān.
