So this is a school.
Currently we are in sitting in the car, in front of the school where the Snow Ball is, attempting to calm a freaking out Jane.
"Why are you freaking out over Mike, out of all people?" Dad stated, pinching the bridge of his nose. I give him the 'really not the time' look while Jane gasped, a little too dramatically, offended.
If I'm being honest, I really hope that both Hop's grudge against Mike and Jane's overdramatic gasps are phases. But at the rate we're going, it'll probably be there for the rest of our lives.
"How dare you-" She started.
"This is not the time." I started in a monotone voice. "We've been sitting in this car, in front of the dance, for about..." Pausing, I grab onto Jane's arm, with my gloved hand, to read the time. This gets me a yell of protest from her. "10 minutes, longer than necessary. Can we just go in?" I ask starting to get a little impatient.
"You guys are super helpful. What wonderful people." She states sarcastically.
I sigh. "Look,-" I start slowly, they turn towards me. "Since Hop isn't going anywhere with his... whatever he was doing, I'll tell you some things that I do know. Mike likes you and probably everything you do. You don't need to worry about anything because if I think you look pretty, he'll definitely think you look pretty. And guess what?" I pause for dramatic effect. "I think you look very pretty." I smile slightly.
Hopper looked a little annoyed that I was helping her out. He's too protective for his own good. Jane stared at me in awe, making me feel a little uncomfortable. I don't think I ever had to encourage someone like that before.
"Thank you." She smiled, making us smile regardless of what we were thinking.
"No problem." I replied.
"We should go inside now. Thank you Dad, love you." Jane said as she got out the car.
Dad smiled and told her he loves her too.
"Hey Hop?" I asked. He turned to look at me. "Thank you. For everything." Before he can say anything, I'm already out of the car.
I waved and walked up to Jane. "What did you say to him? You were in there for a little while." Jane asked.
"Nothing much. Lets just go in already." I replied while dragging her to the entrance.
This guy, who I assumed was a teacher, was standing behind a table near the entrance. He started talking to us about how excited he was for the dance, but I was barely listening. My mind wandered to what Will looked like and how this would turn out. "Well there you go, have a nice night kids." The teacher said, grabbing our tickets. We replied in union with a 'you too' and started to search for the party.
As soon as we walk in I'm blown away by how colorful it looks. "I found Mike, will you be okay on your own?" Jane asked, breaking me from my thoughts.
"I'll be fine, go see Mike." I replied smirking a bit and pushed her forward. She shot me a glare before waving, and of course I waved back.
I looked around some more, bumping into someone on accident. Looking at who it was, I figured out it was Dustin. His hair looked different, I've never seen it so curly. Although he did look kinda sad.
"Hey Dustin, your hair looks great." He smiled at me and nodded.
"Yeah, Steve told me his ways. Who were you looking for?" He asked.
"I was just-just looking for Will." I told him, looking around some more.
He nodded, "I believe he's still over there dancing with that girl." He said, pointing off somewhere.
