it had been days since taeyong and jaehyun last interacted and to say that taeyong was glad of that would be an understatement. jaehyun, however, was upset that he hadn't seen the boy's face at all over the last week and johnny was kind of sick of seeing jaehyun look upset.
"you can't just sit and mope," johnny told his best friend who just stared at him with a blank expression.
"what am i supposed to do then?" jaehyun sat up from where he had his head lying on his book.
they were sat in the library and despite johnny's attempts to keep their voices down, jaehyun was still highly conscious that everyone would hear them whispering in the silence, "can we talk about this later?" he asked in annoyance.
"no," johnny replied, "you don't make great company when you're sad."
"thanks," jaehyun told him sarcastically as he lay his head back down on his book.
they fell into a silence after that for a while as jaehyun tried not to fall asleep again while johnny attempted to complete his maths work. it didn't last long especially not when johnny hit jaehyun with his elbow as soon as taeyong walked into the library.
jaehyun instantly sat up straight to get a better look at taeyong. the boy was flawless and the younger hated the fact that he'd caused animosity between them. it was his fault that taeyong hated him and that was so annoying.
"wait, i remembered i have to talk to him about a group project, i'll be back in a second," johnny spoke before getting up and heading over to jaehyun's crush leaving him alone.
that was the most annoying thing. taeyong was probably the nicest person in the world and literally everyone got along with him, other than jaehyun.
jaehyun could just never handle himself around pretty people, even when he met johnny he was cold to an extent. that was until johnny had made a huge effort to talk to him and become his friend. taeyong, however, was probably the prettiest person jaehyun had ever seen in his life therefore this brought on a whole new challenge.
johnny came back then and thankfully, he hadn't brought taeyong along with him. instead, he seemed to have a brilliant plan of how jaehyun could begin to fix things between them.
"i've got it," the american boy whispered dramatically as he sat down.
"that's great," jaehyun spoke back, "but could you possibly tell me when we meet not in the library?"
"yeah you're right, let's go!"
"right now?" jaehyun questioned.
"yeah, i've got to tell you," johnny replied.
at that, they packed up their things and headed outside. jaehyun was fairly interested to hear what johnny had to say in all honesty. his best friend was known to be a hopeless romantic so if anyone could help him then johnny could.
when they finally found a more secluded outside spot where they could talk safely without being overheard, johnny began talking.
"i had a great idea while i was talking to him," johnny began, "we're doing a project for english and we have to write about the type of person we are and taeyong said he's a romantic."
"oh so you've had an idea on how i can woo him?" jaehyun asked curiously.
"exactly," johnny said, "and don't worry it's not gonna be something that's gonna expose you right away."
"can we get on with it please?"
"okay, you can write him anonymous love letters and put them in his locker," johnny grinned.
"isn't that cliché and awful?" jaehyun questioned back immediately and johnny scoffed.
"of course not," he told his best friend, "things are only ever clichés because they're cute and they work."
jaehyun sighed as he ran the idea through his head for a few moments. "fine i'll do it," he agreed a lot faster than johnny expected, "you'll have to help me though."
"of course."
