"Can I tell you guys something?" I asked Joe and kd as they watched tv in the living room with me
Both of their responses were a yes which put me at ease a little. I figured I should tell them how I felt. I just needed to vent, I had kept everything held in and just felt like I could explode.
"Thank you guys for being here for me. Thank you for treating me with respect and not judging me because of who my family is." I said tearing up
"I know these aren't my babies but it feels so bad giving them up. Everyone's turning on me and I just wanted to let you guys know how much I appreciate everything you both do for me." I finished
Kd and Joe looked at each other for a minute before responding
"aye. we always gon be here for you and fuck with you. They don't run shit." Joe said sucking his teeth
"I still don't fuck with your bald headed sister." kd mumbled making me laugh
They always made me feel better, being around them brought my mood up.
"stop speaking on the dead," Joe let out chuckling

I sat in the middle of the bed talking to kd as we both ate ice cream
"I honestly think I'm pregnant with a boy and a girl," I explained scooping the ice cream that fell on my belly

"you're weird," he said laughing
I wanted to bring up something from earlier but I wasn't sure if it meant what I thought.
"what did joe mean when he told you 'not to speak on the dead," I asked finishing the rest of my ice cream.
The atmosphere in the room changed quickly. Kd was no longer scraping the bottom of the bowl for the melted ice cream instead he let out a sigh.
"um... I'm not sure but I think you heard something different. Don't start accusing people of stuff and don't bring it up again." kd snapped getting up
I remained quiet as he collected his things and made his way out of my room.
They wouldn't do something like that...would they.
