I was awoken to my phone playing my ringtone choppa city
I groaned rolling to my other side not bothering to pick it up. I was bothered and felt as I couldn't go to sleep seeing as the babies were kicking
It rang again once more playing his song. I groaned throwing my arm to the other side of the bed trying to find the phone.
"Hello..."
"Jo..." my mother sobbing voice coming from the speakers
I pulled my phone away and squinted at the bright light that hit my face.
"What's wrong?" I asked turning to turn my bedside lamp on
"It's...your dad..." she cried out as I sat up on my headboard rubbing the sleep out my eyes
"He's dead."
I felt my heart stop.
I felt my eyes water up and a lump in my throat start to form.
I tried to stop myself from breaking down, "where are you?"
"Me and your sister are at the hospital." She sniffed
"I'm on my way," I said climbing out of the bed as the tears dropped from my eyes.
"No- stay home, it's fine. He overdosed hunny. He was doing drugs. Can you just take the boys out for breakfast ? Don't tell them..."
My hand covered my mouth to stop the sobs that were coming out.
