Lara's pov:

I didn't sleep tonight, I couldn't

I was so excited and scared in the same time it was unbearable and I spent my whole night thinking about it

'What will my parents say? What do I tell them, like:

Heyyy mom and dad I saw an suspicious school on the internet and I enrolled in it, today is the day I go and meet all those potentially dangerous strangers because a freaking class blew up in front of my eyes. Isn't that amazing!? '

I just cringed at the thought, there needs to be a way I can explain myself if they get mad but I can't think of a possible and believable "explanation"

I took a deep breath and looked outside the window, in that exact moment my mom was going to pick up the mail from the mailbox.

I took a deep breath and was preparing myself mentally on the worst, so I sat on my bed a waited patiently

*literally a minute later*

"Lara? Sweety come downstairs real quick"

My mom said and I gone downstairs, she was reading the letter on the table and I sat across from her

"Okay, so this letter came in today and it says you are accepted to a private school, and it's free? For talented students? What's that about"

I took a deep breath and decided to tell the "truth"

"Welllll, I you see... I was lonely mom. Online home schooling isn't really for me anymore. I want to have friends and I saw this little private AND free school around our town. I know some of those kids and I think that I made the right choice... "

I lied, I didn't know anyone and my homeschooling was fine because I am always anxious around people anyway. But there was some truth in it, I was lonely...

"Hmm, you know what. Sure, I approve this and I'm so proud of you, you are finally letting down those thick walls of yours"

She got up and gave me a hug, I exhaled because I felt some weight lifting off my shoulders

'But even so, those walls are here for a reason... '

I looked at the clock and it was 10:25am

"I should get dressed"

I told myself and gone upstairs, I then made my way to my closet and changed into jeans and a large black hoodie

I looked at myself in the mirror, I didn't care how I looked I was just bored

I turned to look around my room to find something to do...

'Maybe I can go outside and take some photos? '

I decided on that and started to look for my camera

Eventually I found it and took it, then I made my way to the front door and left the house

I was looking around my town wondering what type of pictures do I take

'Flowers? That's too basic
Houses? I literally see that every day
People? I can't without promision
Sky? Well, I don't know... '

I was listing everything until I decided to just take pictures of everything

It took me few minutes to get to the park but I made it and was ready to take photos.

Some time passed and I got carried away, I woke up from my trans and shook my head a bit

'Well that was the most relaxed I have been in a LONG time... Feels nice'

"Hello! "

I turned around and I got scared my heart almost stopped

I saw a black girl with beautiful curly hair and big brown eyes, I relaxed a little bit

"Um, hi? Do I know you? "

I didn't mean to sound rude but I have never seen her before

She just chuckled

"Wellll not really, but I go to your new school soooo you were about to meet me eventually"

She said as a matter of fact, I was confused but I let it slide

"Okay.... So, what's your name? "

"Mika, you are Lara right? "

"Yeah, that's me"

She nodded and then looked at my camera

"Do you mind if I take a look? "
She pointed at it and I turned it on again

"Sure... "

We were scrolling through the photos and on every photo she commented things like: pretty, nice, I like this one, wow etc.

To be honest in my opinion the photos weren't that fantastic, they were basic with barely any character

This girl apparently thought otherwise or was just trying to be nice.

"Sooo... About that school, do you mind telling me more about other people there? "

I was curious but she just shook her head

"I think it will be better if it stays a surprise"

"Whatever you say..."

I shrugged and left it at that
