Chapter 28(B)

'There are different versions of lies but only one version of the truth'

The morning they got the phone call about the DNA test, Gabriel was sleeping in one of the many rooms in the mansion that belongs to Nora.

He didn't know what came over him, he remembered being drunk and he ordered his driver to take him to Eleanora.

He greeted her with his wasted self that evening.

He groaned due to the ringing of his phone which woke him up from his much needed slumber. He got hit by an head splitting headache. Opening his eyes, he saw the tray filled with breakfast place beside the stool on his massive bed.

The delicious scent made his empty stomach churn, he is always hungry. A pill was placed beside the dish for his headache along with a cup of juice.

Just what he needs...

He swallowed the pill, before shifting his attention to the breakfast. He stares at the formation of the whole thing, from the piles of pancakes, to the bacons and fried eggs along with a cup of coffee. It looks too familiar.

His heart warmed. She made breakfast for him? Maybe there is still some hope.

He dive into the meal, devouring the delicious food. Even if it is poison, he will gladly eat it as long as it comes from her.

After emptying the whole meal, he moved to the bathroom attached to the room quickly having his bath. He freshened up, coming out of the room. He noticed that the tray had been taken away.

On coming out of the room, he was met with the sight of his son who was walking down the large hallway, fumbling with the sleeves of his shirt. He must have noticed his stare on him as he looked up.

It's now or never...

"Alfredo, we need to talk-"

"Not now father, we can have this conversation once we come back from the hospital " he shut him down.

Walking briskly past his father who followed him.

He is right, they will have this conversation after the meeting with the doctor.

Gabriel took the outstretched envelope from Dr Ivan. The tension was so thick in the office. Everyone was at the edge of their seat as Gabriel stared at the sealed white envelope.

"As you can see? It's not broken which means it hasn't been tampered with" the experienced doctor pointed out.

Gabriel broke the seal bringing out a white neatly folded paper. He opens it his eyes running and scanning through the words as his eyes furrows in confusion.

Leah chewed her lips nervously waiting for what is in the paper. She should be at work but she took a permission knowing she will be late.

"I can only decipher the word positive, i don't understand the other medical terminologies."

The doctor smiled asking for the test result. Once in his hands, he took out a pen from his breast pocket, slightly underlining a few words.

They all watch him in anticipation, staring at him as if he has answers to all their problems.
