SANYA's POINT OF VIEW

After Mommy and Daddy left, umalis na rin agad sina Tito Rolie and Arvie without saying any single word. My thought bothers me. What if sinusumpa niya ako? What if hindi na pinsan ang turing niya sa'kin? Hindi ko talaga sinasadya ang mga pangyayari, I was really hopeless and I didn't know who to go with.

We're here in our mansion in Tagaytay since Christmas is coming, malamig ang simoy ng hangin na pumapasok sa kwarto ko.

Nothing changed in my room.

I want to know how was the meeting o kung may maayos bang pinag-usapan.

"Jolie, don't decide on your own. Better to hear Sanya's opinion before taking them to States and besides, Dominick wants to marry our daughter" pagpapaintindi ni Daddy kay Mommy habang sinusundan niya ito sa kusina upang uminom ng malamig na tubig.

"But Sanya already told us that she will not marry Dominick because of what happened between them and her best friend. We just came there to let Mr. Eduardo knows about his son, hindi pa ba sapat 'yon?" tugon ni Mommy.

So Dominick was there and he told to my parents that he'll marry me? Nakakatawa. This was my dream before but knowing about his affair with my ex-bestfriend, I'll choose to live abroad far away from them.

"Ate, this has nothing to do with you or to anyone's mistake. This matter is only for my daughter" Mom said in his serious expression.

Daddy was about to speak when he noticed me so everyone looks at me but I didn't meet their gaze.

"I just want to have water" palusot ko bago tuluyang bumaba ng hagdan nang hindi sila tinitingnan. I went to the kitchen just to escape from them but they followed me.

This is the first time I saw my Mom and Tita Yolie quarreling for something I don't know. Are they hiding secrets? Why I can't marry Dominick or even to be with him? Did I miss something? Argh!

"I don't know why did you give up yourself to someone who's not willing to fight you, Sanya" panimula ni Mommy.

Hindi ako agad naka-react. I didn't even turn my back to face them. I am just standing in front of the sink while asking myself the same question but it happened anyway.

"Jolie, tama na" pagpipigil niya kay Mommy.

"Ate, why do you tend to dive into everything? Lahat na lang pinakikialaman mo! Can't you see what happened to my daughter? She doesn't deserve this, Ate!" galit na pahayag ni Mommy but Daddy calm her down.

"Don't overthink, Yolie" Tita stated but my mother laugh in sarcasm.

"It was Kuya's issue but then, you still put yourself. They are blaming us and until now-" but before Mommy could finish her words, Tita cut her.
