Prologue

Alola, Melemele Island

Ash's POV

"Quilava finish it off with flamethrower."

"Umbreon counter with dark pulse."

As the two attacks collided with each other smoke filled the arena making me unable to see the outcome of the battle.

As the smoke started to wane I could see that both pokemon where still standing and growling at each other...'thud' a pokemon collapsed.

"Quilava is unable to battle Umbreon wins, which means Gladion is the Winner" I heard Brock say.

"Rattatas I lost again" I started." Well whatever can't win them all I guess Quilava return."

"Hey atleast you got closer than usual before I basically two shotted most of your pokemon now you can atleast put a actual fight with me." My rival Gladion said to me.

Me and Gladion go back a few years even before we got our first pokemon believe it or not. Even though me and Gladion are rivals we're still good friends. Gladion has always been better than my in pokemon battles I haven't been able to catch up to him. Even when we had our first battle he outclassed me in every single way and I haven't been able to catch up

"Yeah I guess that's true, but it still seems that after traveling Kanto, the Orange Islands and Johto I still can't catch up to you." I said with a bit of sadness at the end.

"Cheer up ash you'll catch up to Gladion one day I believe in you."

"Yeah no need to get down in the dumps you can catch up to Gladion."

I turned my head to the right to see the people talking to me. I saw that it was Gladion's little sister Lillie and my little sister Selene or Moon as I like to call her.

Lillie is actually the reason on how I met Gladion. Lillie has always tried to lift up my spirits and give me advice. I'm very grateful for everything she's done for me.

Selene or Moon as I like to call her is my little sister who is only a year younger than me. I call Selene Moon because ever since she found out that Selene is the goddess of the moon, she's liked the moon a lot hence I call her Moon. Moon is basically like me full of energy, a stomach that's a bottomless pit and loves pokemon. Moon and Lillie have been best friends ever since they met, everytime they see each other they can start a conversation be it on pokemon, fashion, boys, anything they just click.

"Chaaa." I heard another voice say. This time it was my first pokemon, Pikachu.

I met Pikachu when it was just a pichu lost in the forest injured. When I found him I took him to the nearest pokemon center and patched him up. Ever since then Pichu stuck around and we've been the best of friends. Eventually Pichu evolved into Pikach going through thick and thin together.

"Thanks for cheering me on Pikachu. I promise the next time we battle you'll battle." I told Pikachu as he nuzzled me affectionately.

"Hey Gladion nice win good job, oh yeah thanks for the congratulations." Gladion said sarcastically.

"Ha ha Gladions jealous that all the attention is on Ash and not him." Moon teased.

"What! That's preposterous no way I'm jealous of him. Hmph." Gladion retorted.
