When Maddie and Mike finally got to the school, they let out sighs of relief. Maddie then checked the time on her phone, and her heart stopped. The bell had rang ten minutes ago. She ran inside and down the right hallway. She burst through the door. Everyone stared at her. The teacher was first to speak.

"You're late Maddie," Mrs. Blackwell said, "I've already texted your mother. Sit down now please,"

Maddie sat down, and zoned out on whatever the teacher was saying. If she had just been a little faster, and she would've made it. Maddie started thinking on how she was a screw up. She had no friends, no one liked her, and she had so many things wrong with her. All of her phobia's, for example. Maddie had haphephobia, Nyctophobia, (Fear of darkness) claustrophobia, (Fear of small spaces) and Cleithrophobia. (The fear of restraint) She probably had a lot more that had yet to be discovered.

"Maddie!"

Maddie looked up at her teacher who was standing next to her. Maddie felt hands on her arms and immediately freaked out. She jumped up and backed away from her teacher. (For those who were wondering, Maddie allowed her brother to touch her because she trusts him. She doesn't trust anyone else that way though.) Mrs. Blackwell glared at her.

"Office, NOW." growled Mrs. Blackwell.

Maddie grabbed her things and walked to the office. She started to think about how long she would be trapped in the darkness. Unable to move, restrained. Maddie tried to direct her thoughts somewhere else, but it didn't work. By the time she reached the office, she was nearly in tears. She explained what had happened in the classroom. Maddie didn't tell them about her haphephobia, because what was the point? She would still be punished at home for missing the bus. The receptionist decided that Maddie would be suspended for acting out in class, being late, and also causing physical harm to other students. Maddie was confused. She had never hurt someone before. Then, it clicked. The bullies. Ah yes. After beating Maddie up, they would blame her for attacking them.

Maddie walked out the door and started the journey home. Half way there, it started raining, causing her to run all the way back. When she got home, Maddie noticed that her mother wasn't back yet. So she ran inside, dashed up the stairs, and into her room. She grabbed he Nintendo Switch, and brought it back downstairs. Maddie slowly stepped into the basement. It had no lights for a reason. She stared into the darkness for about a minute, before she breathed in, and ran in. Maddie set the Nintendo down on the ground, and rushed towards the light. Her mind started filling with thoughts about the door closing and her being stuck down her forever, almost causing her a panic attack. But Maddie pushed the thoughts back down and made it back upstairs.

She flung herself on the couch and slowed her breathing. Suddenly, the door slammed open. Maddie jumped off the couch, ready for the worst. But she calmed down when she saw that it was only her brother. Mike looked at her with obvious concern showing in his eyes.

"Maddie, why are you back home?" Mike asked, "I looked everywhere for you. I was so worried,"

"Don't worry Mike!" smiled Maddie, "They just sent me home because I had a panic attack. I'm sorry for scaring you like that,"

Maddie was technically telling the truth, yet she still felt a bit guilty. But she didn't want her brother to worry. He was already stressed. She didn't want her own problems to stress him out more.

'You care so much about him. Why? You are selfish for that. You should probably listen to your thoughts more often. They tell the truth,'

Maddie sat in silence as crazed laughter boomed throughout her head.

'What was that? Who was that!?" Maddie thought as worry laced her mind.

She reminded herself to calm down. It started to work until Maddie heard the screeching of tires. Maddie started shaking. Her mother was home. The door was flung open, and there stood her mom, in all her fury. Maddie backed away against the couch, hoping that she wouldn't be seen. But hey, when did things ever go her way? Her mother stomped over to her, and grabbed Maddie by the ear. Maddie struggled to get free, but that resulted in her being thrown to the ground. An 'oof' escaped Maddie's mouth. This was the first time her mom had actually gotten physical.

'Damn... I've fucked up now, haven't I?' wondered Maddie.

She was forcefully picked up, and then Maddie had a breakdown right then and there. She cried, and didn't stop not when she was dropped in the darkness, not even when the last source of light faded to nothing. And then, she heard it again.

'SHUT UP ALREADY! You are more annoying than him. But just as useless. Perhaps even more,'

And then voices flooded her head.

Weak.

Stupid.

Pathetic. No wonder you have no friends!

Useless piece of shit.

Error's better than this!

Maddie stopped crying and sat up. Where were these voices coming from? It didn't matter. She should listen to the voices. Maddie stopped crying, but then she remembered the name. Error. She had read many Wattpad stories, one about Error being the forced god of destruction. Were these the voices that he was hearing? No. That was impossible. Undertale and the Au's didn't actually exist. They were just made up.

'I'm becoming paranoid," Maddie thought.

She then grabbed her Nintendo and played Undertale. She was immediately lost in the game. Maddie had downloaded a mod that involved an Ink!Sans boss fight. She was doing better this time. She almost had him...  and then she was blown to smithereens by a gaster blaster. Maddie softly cursed. She was so close! A yawn escaped from her mouth, and she realized she wasn't panicking as much. The game helped with that, and also projected a small light. Maddie couldn't bare being left in the dark again, so she left her game on, and soon drifted into a dreamless sleep.

Meanwhile...

Ink's POV.

Ink dodged left and right. He was being attacked by a Frisk. Probably being controlled again. He had fought the same Frisk before. He always killed them. Sometimes they would return, or they would just vanish until next time. Ink noticed an opening and aimed a gaster blaster at them. The Frisk failed to dodge the laser, and was shot dead. Ink waited, but nothing happened. He then sighed a sigh of relief. He created a portal back to the Doodle Sphere, but as he stepped through it, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong...

Woohoo! Another chapter finished. And I'm getting tired. I haven't ran into any writers block though, so that's good. Well stay safe! And good luck to anyone writing a book out there too. Word Count: 1152
