❝Was reality always like this..?❞

Silence.
That was all Son Hyeju could hear, eyes barely recognizing anything; only seeing the nothingness of the intriguing color of black. The empty feeling on her stomach growing as time passes, her eyes rapidly searching for anything. Nothing.
The cold wind blew past her, her body shivering very lightly. She tried to speak, only to hear nothing. Lips mouthing the words she tried to utter, but nothing came out. Huh, what is happening? Head moving around, desperately trying to find anyone— anything. Fruitless.
❝You seem rather.. desperate, Miss?❞ A somewhat familiar voice rang, piercing through the thin air; filling the whole room, echoes of the voice were now heard. Hyeju's head turned to left, right.
No one? Was she hallucinating? Was she..? Wow, she must've gone insane. ❝You haven't gone insane yet..❞ The voice spoke yet again, snapping the girl out of her deep thoughts.
❝Stay a few more days in this void of nothingness, and you will lose your sanity, slowly yet surely.❞ The sudden change of the voice made Son Hyeju shiver, composure and her stoic image cracking under the mysterious gaze that was set upon her weakened figure. Her mouth moved to say something, only to get interrupted by the voice.
❝So tell me, do you wish to stay?❞ The voice was answered by silence with Son Hyeju trying her best to force her voice out. She tried shouting, failed. She tried everything she could do, but she failed.
❝Can't say anything?❞
❝You do not wish to leave the void? What a splendid decision you have made!❞
❝Let us play some games for a while, Ms. Son Hyeju.❞

❝Son Hyeju!❞
Jolting right up from her desk, Hyeju groaned at the obnoxious voice that can be clearly heard right at her left ear. Looking around, the girl found her friend, Choi Yerim snickering to her palms.
❝What did you dreamt about?❞ Yerim giggled, leaning forward to her friend with an amused smile. The pessimist girl leaned away from the optimistic girl, already drained from her one sentence.
❝Nothing.❞
Yerim pouted at the boring response she just got, expecting to get something more interesting. ❝How monotonous..❞ With a roll of the eyes, Hyeju gave the slightly older girl a nudge; a smile plastered on her lips. ❝By the way, do you know that Jeon Y/n?❞ The bright girl looked at the other, a little confused.
❝Of course! N/n and I are the best of friends!❞
Hyeju raised an eyebrow at her slightly unsure tone, but stopped herself from saying anything. ❝Which also reminds me, why are you asking about Y/n?❞ Yerim questioned, curiosity dripping in her tone. Curiosity killed the cat.
