It had been a smooth sailing race so far, Scarlett was now running up in third and hopes for another podium from her were high

With the way the pit stop strategies were currently working, Carlos Sainz was in 4th behind her

Her tyres were beginning to wear out so she was losing speed on her lap times which was letting the McLaren behind her gain on her

She continuously fought him off for 2 laps as he tried at every turn to overtake her but she blocked him off. It was on the straight that she was screwed

As she powered towards the straight Carlos's car appeared next to her and suddenly every little movement was crucial to get right

Scarlett used whatever power she had left in her tyres to pull into the inside lane as they approached the first corner

What she hadn't been expecting was for Carlos to lunge before they rounded the corner, her car was still facing straight while his was turning into hers. Scarlett desperately span her wheel to the right to try avoid an impact but it was too late when his front wings caught her back tyres

Both cars went spinning off the track and smashed into the tyre wall, rendering them both out of the race

"You okay?" Christian's voice came over her radio

"Fine," She sighed "Couldn't avoid it I'm sorry,"

"Don't worry about it, these things happen," He said "It's a hard weekend for all of us, I'm glad you're okay,"

"Thanks," Scarlett said and she pulled herself out of her car
