"Hey baes!" I cheered as I got into the car, tucking my backpack between my feet and clicking my seatbelt in.
Claire turned around in her seat and held my hand, "First day! So exciting." We cheered again as Raelee rolled her eyes starting the car.
"Ugh it's barely 7:30 in the morning, tone it down a bit." She complained as she turned her music on a bit louder.
I grabbed my gum pack from my bag and held it on top of the console, both of them taking one. "Rae-bae," I started to say earning a cringe from her, "We're finally going to the same school. Internet friends for how long? 2 years or so?" She nodded her head. "And now you don't have to show me through pixels, I'll be there by your side the whole time!"
"Yeah, yeah, still can't believe your parents both managed to find jobs out here." She said making a left on a street.
I looked out the window as we flew by people on the sidewalk, trees hanging overhead and kids running out of their houses. The sky was a bright blue as the yellow lit sun was peaking through the cracks of homes as it started its way upwards towards the sky.
The couple made conversation in front of me, "It's a sunny day today." Claire said as she looked out the window. "A rare one, better to make the best of it." Rae responded.
