It was intense.
The day passed and it was already dark outside — and inside since there's no electricity. Though the Na's house had a generator, they can't be bothered to turn it on since it was insanely loud and it might attract zombies.
One guy was currently on the verge of puking on how worried he was for Donghyuck and Mark, who wasn't with them.
Unfortunately, kinda fortunate? Their parents knew each other and since it was summer break, they decided to go on a vacation — without their kids — and have lots of fun, leaving their children in the household.
Well, except Jisung's parents. It wasn't a vacation nor a visit to a place to enjoy, it was always for business.
Jeno noticed Jaemin getting pale and immediately helped the other guy. "Dude, are you good?"
"Do I look like i'm good, Jeno? Haechan- Donghyuck- that kid is mischevious and all but I still love him,"
"Uhm... okay?"
"Why won't they answers the calls? That canadian boy I swear-"
Jisung covered Jaemin's mouth, stopping him from blabbering more nonsense. The poor guy has was unable to breathe properly. He smacked Jisung's hand away, glaring at the tall giant.
"Park, do that again." he sarcastically smiled.
"Gladly," he was about to wrap his slender fingers around but Jaemin grabbed it and flicked it away. "Fuck off, bro."
"We've just arrived and I'm already regretting my decision," Donghyuck made his way to Jaemin's sofa, plopping his tired body onto the soft surface of the cushions. He looked at Jaemin who was currently nagging at Park.
"Yeah? You can go back then," Jaemin unconsciously replied, not really minding who just barged into the house.
"Okay," the boy was sure petty as hell, he stood up and went to the door but Mark pushed him back. "No one will save your ass back there."
"Say something I don't know,"
"Wai- Donghyuck!" Jaemin jumped onto the guy like a monkey on a tree. Donghyuck scrunched his nose up at the contact. Though he, himself liked skinship, he didn't find the idea of unexpected contact pleasant.
"It's clear, we can all see who's the favorite." Mark staggered under his breath.
"Where were you guys?" Jisung asked the older, completely ignoring the bickering duo on the side, one still attached to the other.
"Can you please get off?"
"We were planning to visit our old tree house but.. change of plans, I guess?" he scratched his head awkwardly, remembering the terrifying encounters they managed to survive.
"I have no idea on what's going to happen next. How will we get to safety?" Jeno sighed, gripping the throw pillows. It wasn't the time to give all smiles, it certainly wasn't. It was the part where they needed to be serious since their lives are at stake.
"Should I call our parents or something?" Mark brought out his phone and gently waved it. The boys seemed to agree so he shrugged and contacted his dad.
"Dad?"
"Son!"
"Are you guys okay? Are you safe?"
"Yes, yes we are. South Korea has the most upgraded security level, their technology is very modern here, son. We're safe. So if you can, please get over here. The neighbourhoods in Los Angeles isn't really the best for surviving the apocalypse. Find as many sources of necessities, and fly over here. Stay safe, I love you."
His dad hung up.
"Uhm.. let's get to planning?"
⋆⋆⋆
"Oh no, that's definitely not going to work." Gray commented on Rina's supposed plan.
"For the love of Park Jimin, can you just shut up!?" Rina was beyond irritated as the girl kept spitting out useless opinions.
"Don't fight." Astrid sighed. She was slumped on the living room, darkness consuming the place. The only source of light that they have is from a one lit candle, — which is definitely not going to last long.
Hwayoung was on top of Astrid's lap, while Hayoon was sleeping peacefully on his crib that's brought out by the three.
"Astrid, can you please tell me what's happening?" Hwayoung whispered to the girl, enjoying her hand stroking her locks.
"Hwayoung,"
"Please?"
"Ok, fine." It was pure silence for a moment. Astrid took a deep breath before speaking,
"There's been a huge zombie break out in all of the parts of the world. That includes the place that we live in. America isn't that great in handling world endangering problems like this so were less likely to survive, but me and the others are currently figuring out the best way to be safe. Don't worry, Hwayoung. I'm sure you and Hayoon will be safe. I'll protect you with my life."
"Astrid, why is Gray and Rina fighting?" she pondered, humming softly.
"They're always like that, cover your ears for a moment?"
She obeyed, placing her small hands over her ears, clueless.
"Listen here, bitches. The kid is wondering why you guys are always at each others throats and I'm becoming sick of it too. Shut your flat asses up or else I'll do it for you. I've been watching the kids for hours and I'm exhausted so please," she looked at the two girls.
Gray angrily pulled her hair and huffed. She was definitely stressed and it was taking a toll on their attitudes.
"That's the thing, Astrid. You've been babysitting all day and you're not helping!" Gray pointed at Hwayoung and Hayoon.
"For the record, she's actually helping.. a lot," Rina mumbled to herself.
Astrid just rolled her eyes while Rina kept silent. The girl removed Hwayoung's hands from her ears and gently lifted her up from her thighs. She stomped over to the two, squinting her eyes at the diagram they made.
"Useless idiots." she whispered under her breath.
She then started to draw something, the two looking at each other in the process.
"Since our top priority is to get to the safest area possible, we need to leave the US. I've studied touring before this so we can consider ourselves lucky. South Korea is the place we need to go. They're one of the most developed country which means their security is top notch. We're lucky if we can catch a flight to go there, that seems impossible though.." Astrid trailed off, staring at her planned drawing.
"Smartass. Why didn't you say this before?" Gray flicked her forehead. "Well, listen here Han. I've only thought about it now," she accentuated Gray's last name and basically just shrugged.
"Thank you for your sexy brain, Lee."
"You're Welcome, Lin."
"Oh so we're using last names now?"
"Mine's Park!" Hwayoung giggled at the side. The three girls looked at each other before drowning into fits of laughter.
"Oh gosh, why are we like this."
