The total of 10 people living in the house, plus two kids, can only be as bad as you imagine. All of them had messed up sleep schedules, and they barely have a proper conversation to themselves. The girls slept at night and the boys stayed up, vice versa. Well, to think about it, it's actually quite nice having alternate watchers throughout the day and night.
That's exactly the problem. They don't know how to talk to each other, just simple 'thanks' or 'sorry' when encountering each other.
Hwayoung has had enough.
She suffered watching such unimaginable tension fill in the room when one of them makes eye contact with the other. Or how they would steal glances because they're curious about what's on the other's mind. Nonetheless, she was tired of them being awkward.
Oh, how a five-year-old can be so smart?
"Rina, I thought you were gonna talk to them about our plan." she referred to the guys. Gray looked down at the girl and up at her friend, she pursed her lips, not knowing how to help.
Hwayoung stared at Rina, analyzing any emotion that may project out of her face. "Well, yes. We just don't know how to," The eldest admitted their doom and failed interactions with men.
There's only one day left to start their travel and they aren't even sure if they will survive in the sea of flesh eating creatures roaming around the streets. They're undoubtedly nervous and maybe that's one factor that led them into not communicating properly with the other group in the same house.
As the afternoon sun emitted warm light against the glass windows of the first floor of the Park's Residents, the house is surprisingly peaceful juxtaposing Rina's chaotic mind. Hwayoung words really hit them hard right in the chest, well, if they even had one.
"You literally live in the same roof as them," Hwayoung bluntly spat making Astrid laugh in her place. Their current positions are hard to read. Astrid occupied the whole couch, laying on it's soft surface, Gray is on one of the giant marshmallow cushions placed on the living room ground handling Hayoon, and Rina is on the floor, with Hwayoung on her lap.
The electricity isn't going to get back soon, leaving them with darkness everytime it passes 6:00 at night. They didn't really have a problem with that since the boys were the one that stays up at night to guard.
Astrid abruptly got up but did nothing as she layed on her stomach, placing her palms on her cheeks, slightly puffing them. Hwayoung found the action funny so she went to her and poked Astrid's soft cheeks.
"Hey," Astrid complained, grabbing the younger's hands. Hwayoung only giggled.
Rina just stared at the two, taking in what Hwayoung said to her. Out of the three, she is the most capable of bringing them closer as they can't carry out there plan with them just leaving Jisung and the rest here.
Gray cleared her throat behind, all eyes turning onto her. Astrid stopped playing with the little girl, sitting up the couch and smoothing her hair, her clothes, making herself more presentable. Rina turned around to see what caused Astrid to be so conscious about her appearance.
There stood the seven young adults, silent as an abandoned place. Rina froze on her stance.
When they aren't paying attention to Gray, she actually went up to the boys as she heard them talking about something like a 'idea in which we'll get to experience adventure' - quoting Donghyuck.
"We wanted to talk about something, something about our plan to safety." Mark stood mighty on his feet but his insides seemed to crumble as he felt all eyes on him. He never really thought if the girls will agree to their plan, so did the others as they didn't mention the idea.
"Oh, uhm," Rina smiled tightly, one without teeth, while she pushed herself aside and gave space for the guys. "Go ahead."
Jisung and Chenle shared a look as this 'plan' of theirs caused a heated argument between the two. Only Jeno can sense the tension between them and the others seemed ignorant.
"We're really thankful that you let us stay here," Mark started, nodding towards Astrid with a slight smile. The girl did the same knowing that she did give them quite a hard time. "We initially had a plan before our encounter with you guys. We all agreed to go to South Korea, seeing that it's the most shielded place we can shelter ourselves."
Astrid raised her brows at the coincidence, discreetly looking at Gray who was smiling at the corner, proud of herself with her idea. She was obviously the one that brought the group to talk to them.
"So..?" Rina questioned, waiting for Mark's point to be viewed.
Chenle seemed to be tense and jittery, why can't he just stay still?
Mark cleared his throat and continued, "That involves leaving tomorrow.., and we wondered if you-"
"-will let us leave!" Chenle interrupted causing Jisung to glare at him. Jeno seemed taken aback as Renjun and Donghyuck did. Jaemin rolled his eyes and gritted his teeth with closed mouth.
"Oh.." Gray spoke after her long silence. She never expected them to get their consent of them leaving. She thought that they would just sneak out in the middle of the night and leave without a trace. Rina held a look of offense, she had her eyes wide and lips apart.
"Well, uh, I guess? You don't need to tell us though.." Rina trailed off. Astrid observed all the other male species. They seem to not agree with what Chenle just said, which was quite bizzare since they look like they've discussed what they'll say before. Jisung quietly sighed and rubbed his forehead, seemingly tired of the raven haired boy.
Jaemin smiled, clearly forced, before speaking, "Ah, yes. Thank you again. We might leave at daylight tomorrow. We're just letting you know." He bowed his head slightly as an act of politeness and walked his way upstairs.
Hwayoung tightened her grip around Astrid's shirt, and she seemed to have felt it so she caressed the child's back in an attempt to sooth her.
The tension is unreal. Chenle stared at Astrid, and Astrid stared at Chenle. The two seemed to have a unspoken problem with each other. Chenle broke eye contact first as he heard Mark speak again.
"We'll head upstairs now," he said while laughing awkwardly, he made a mental note to scold Chenle later but his feeling of embarrassment only grew.
Renjun glanced at the tense guy, patting his shoulder, "You did a great job, buddy. Chenle just ruined it," he went upstairs as everyone did
except for Donghyuck.
No one really notice his disappearance from the group. He stayed in the living room, feeling the presence of the girls and the kids.
"Look, I'm sorry about Chenle, but here's a thing you guys need to know,"
