Jordan's POV
I just moved in with my new foster family. I've never felt so welcomed before. I have to admit though. It ain't the same as being back home.I'd started my new school and it's just another school to me. Same shit different day. It was halfway through the day and I got a call off Cory. I thought he hated me to be honest. "Jordan.... Jordan it's Mia." I walked out my classroom concerned. "Cory what's happened! TELL ME WHATS HAPPENED CORY." He stayed silent for a while as he waited for a reply. "She's been shot Jordan." I dropped my phone to the ground. I had to go back. I had to go back for her.
I ran back home slamming the door open. I grabbed my bag and shoved all my things into it. My foster mum ran up the stairs after me. "Where are you going." I stop and look at her. "I'm going home." And with that I ran out the house to the train station. I can't even call Cory back because I left my phone at school. As I was sitting on the train I look out the window as I was getting so close to Ackley. I missed it. Even though it had only been a few days.
As soon as I arrived, I ran to the hospital as fast as I could. I was able to find where they had taken Mia but they tried to stop me as I ran through the corridors. "Mia.Mia." I shouted. I saw a woman standing outside a door, that must be her mum. She turned around to look at me and I brace myself as I know there are going to be numerous questions thrown at me. "Who are you?" Her mum asks as she sniffles into her tissue. "I'm Jordan. I'm Mias erm.Friend." That hit me a little. I realised I never really spoke to Mia properly after that night. I wish I did. "Oh your Jordan." I look at her confused. She knows me? "Your the boy Mia's always blabbering on about." I laughed a bit "Don't tell her I said that she will kill me." She warned. "Do you know if she's going to be okay?" I ask nervously. "They don't know." She cries into my shoulder. I embrace her into a hug whilst peeking over her shoulder. I saw her. The girl I loved lying there hopelessly. Fighting for her life. "Do you want to see her?" Mia's mum asked. I nodded. I opened the door and sat down next to her. "Mia I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry I wasn't there. I would've taken the bullet for you. You deserve so much more Mia. I'm sorry I just left. There are so many things I want to tell you. You can't leave me Mia please don't leave." I sobbed into her hand whilst I grabbed it with both of my hands.
I stayed here for a while. And when I mean a while. I've stayed here every night since I got here for the past 2 weeks. The doctors were saying it wasn't good news but, they can't know for certain. Well I know for certain that my Mia won't let go that easily. She's stronger than that. This girl has literally turned me soft. I kiss her hand as I'm about to walk out and I hear a voice behind me.
