It all started on that train.
My team and I had gone into Mountain Glenn to find the White Fang. Ruby was captured, and we managed to find her underground. The White Fang had set up a train with bombs. It would go down the track, the cars would detach and explode, leaving holes for Grimm to enter, and it would crash into Vale, letting an army of Grimm enter the kingdom.
Weiss, Blake, and I had to go down below, and disable the bombs.
We landed inside the train, and stood up.
"I guess this is what we trained for," I said.
Weiss pulled out a magazine filled with dust vials.
"Here," she said, handing it to Blake. "This should help you."
Blake pulled out Gambol Shroud, and loaded it with the ammo. We started to run ahead, but stopped dead in our tracks as we saw someone land in front of us.
It was the girl with the umbrella who'd saved Roman Torchwick the other night.
"You two go on ahead," I said. "This one's mine."
That was probably the biggest mistake of my life.
They ran towards the umbrella girl, and I fired a round at her to keep her from attacking them. She backflipped out of the way as the other two ran behind her.
ENDS AT 1:15
When I came back to consciousness, I found myself in some sort of small room, with only one light bulb above me providing any sort of light.
I tried to move, only to realize I couldn't. I was tied to a chair. I panicked for a moment, and tried to remember what had happened. It took a moment, but soon it all came back to me. The train, the umbrella girl, losing the battle. I grumbled as I realized I'd lost. I vowed to myself I'd give umbrella girl a piece of my mind next time I saw her.
Then, a door in front of me opened, and a girl in a red dress with yellow markings walked in, with the umbrella girl behind her.
She smiled.
"Good work, Neo," she said. "This should make them happy."
"'Neo' was it?" I said to umbrella girl. "When I break out of here, I'm coming for you specifically!"
She smirked, clearly not fazed whatsoever by what I said.
"You won't even have the opportunity to do that," the girl in red said.
I was slightly confused by what she meant at first, but I ignored it.
"Where's my friends?" I said. "What did you do to my teammates?"
"Your teammates are fine," the girl said. "They managed to stop our plan, and are back in Beacon."
"So they know I'm in trouble," I said. "You should've brought them with you. They're coming for me--"
"That's what you think," the girl said. "You know how they stopped us? They crashed the train. My... associates... have talked to them. They think you're dead."
I was shocked.
"They... They do...?" I said.
The girl smirked. "My associates say they've never seen them so happy. They said you were a complete nuisance to them."
"You expect me to believe that?" I said, seeing right through her lies.
The girl chuckled. "Whether you believe it or not, it doesn't matter. That's the information I was given."
"Yeah," I said. "And I'm a brunette."
I could see through her lies easily. My friends never seemed unhappy at all around me. I knew she was only trying to make me upset. Though I had to give her credit where it was due, the way she spoke was kind of convincing.
"What do you even want from me?" I asked. "Why didn't you just kill me?"
"Believe me, I'm sure Neo would've been happy to," the girl said. "And I wouldn't have had a problem with it. But, lucky for you, we have a debt to pay with a pirate crew."
"What does that have to do with me?" I said.
"Well, look at yourself," she said. "Use your imagination."
"I don't under--" I started, until it hit me. Terror started to fill me as I realized what they were going to do with me.
"You know, you were almost saved," the girl said. "Apparently someone tried to stop Neo from capturing you. But she managed to get out with you."
I felt my heart sink. I wanted to beg for them to let me go, but I knew they wouldn't listen to my pleas.
"Can I at least call my friends?" I said. "I know you won't let me go, but I at least want to see them one more time."
The girl's grin grew, and I knew she wasn't going to let me talk to them. "They wouldn't want to know you were alive anyway."
I grew enraged. "SHUT UP! You expect me to believe that 'they won't miss you' garbage?! ALL I ASK IS THAT YOU LET ME TALK TO THEM!!!"
Neo raised her umbrella, and slammed me in the stomach. I leaned over, coughing as the air was knocked out of me. I started tearing up as I realized I'd never get to see them again. I'd never get to see if Blake would have the satisfaction of defeating these people. I'd never get to see how much of a good person Weiss would become. I'd never see the great Huntress I knew Ruby would grow up to become.
The girl in red knelt down in front of me.
"Cry all you want," she said. "This is how things are going to be. You're going to be stuck on a pirate ship, far from your friends for the rest of your life, the only way to see them again will be through your memories."
At this point the tears were streaming out. My old confidence was gone. I was going to be sold to pirates, and I would never see my friends, or my little sister again.
The girl stood up, and put a scroll to her ear. After a moment, she started to speak.
"Hey," she said into the scroll, giving me a terrifying glare.
I turned away, silently crying as I thought of my sister, and how much I already missed her.
"I have something you might want," she said. "You better bring the dust. Trust me, you're going to love this."
She walked out of the room. I slowly looked back to the door, and saw Neo giving me another smirk, before shutting the door.
I couldn't contain it anymore, and I started sobbing. I was never going to see my friends again, and, even worse, I was going to be a pirate slave.
