7. Summer

51 18 19

This time is filled with long, sunny days
Of loud, cheerful music, of mangoes
Of hot dry sand squeaking under my feet
Of windy, smile filled road trips to the coast

The unforgiving heat of Australian summer
People barefoot, careless, sun kissed and wild
Buying berries, cherries and pavlova for the avo
Kids shoveling in the sand, screaming for pure joy
Diving in the warm shallows, salt sprayed hair curling

What does summer mean to you?
Could you put it into words?
Or is it a feeling so pure and bright
That it can't be written, but rather, lived?

A/N:
Here is another freely written poem of sorts, typed up whilst looking at the ocean 🌊
What does summer mean to you, and could you put it into words?
Thank you for the read and the vote, and make sure to say hello :)
Hannah
PS: the word avo = Australian shortened version of the word 'afternoon' spoken arvoe
