"I don't hate you." Draco blurted out too quickly than he had in mind. She was speaking and moving too quickly that he had to keep up with her before she was out of his sight. Those weren't the first words he had hoped to say to her, but it was too late now to take it back. Thankfully, she turned to look back at him, ready to listen. It pained Draco how awfully patient she was with him.

"I am so mad at you that I feel like I'm a grenade; if anyone pulls my pin at any given moment, I'd explode. I'm hurt, Jo! I feel betrayed and broken and like everything in the world is suddenly a big fat lie!" The words were coming out of his mouth like vomit, and like vomit, he could barely hold it in. "You betrayed me, Jo! You lied to me! And I am beyond mad at you! I trusted you!"

Jo flinched at his every word. He didn't realize that he had taken steps forward until he saw how close he had gotten to her. He saw the fear in her eyes and he knew he had gone too far. He allowed his muscles to relax as he took a few steps back and broke eye contact. Even he could feel the venom in his boiling blood. Jo didn't move an inch. But the look of fear and guilt all over her made him realize that that's how she's been feeling all her life being muggleborn. He suddenly thought of how scared she must be, thinking that her life may be threatened at any given moment just because of her blood status.
