It was sharp six. The bright grand hall flooded with guests. The rich demeanor filled with golden lights as the enormous ceiling in the middle took the whole environment to another level. Her green eyes was calm but she was trembling inside with her inner turmoil rumbling in nervousness and the crowd. Her olive green orbs searched for someone amidst the hall as each and every pair of eyes watched her. When her eyes landed on that person, his eyes was already on her gazing at her with protective radar. He was wearing a navy blue tux. White shirt and the dark tie was buried under his dark blue waistcoat. His whole outfit tensed when he buttoned his navy blue coat like a gentleman. Her fingers clutched her red gown tightly, she lifted the red burgundy a little to step down. With her heels clicking down the stairs, as she walked as graceful as she could, her feet reached to her husband who was waiting at the end of the stairs for her.
Only four steps to be taken she saw his palm extended to help her. Not wanting to create a scene, she held his fingers softly. His grasp was firm yet gentle as he pulled his wife closer to him. Removing his fingers from her hand only to snake it around her waist, Jungkook initiated the celebration.
She could feel the aura around him powerful and classy as he opened his mouth. Her eyes met other two pairs. Taehyung with a very small smile and Juri with her charismatic smile. With a warm welcome, the party started. Soon, people engaged in their conversations. Jungkook introduced many people to her. She was lost in track.
'Made for each other'
'You are very beautiful'
'Gorgeous'
'Congratulations'
These were the things that she heard from the crowd when she met the guests.
She left a deep breath when people all the introductions were over. All of a sudden, Jungkook pulled more closer to him. He dipped his face down taking a long sniff in her smell. Layla immediately tried pushing him away. "Stop it" Layla whispered as her eyes moved around on the crowd. Jungkook abruptly placed his finger under her chin and made her face him. His dark brown chocolate orbs radiated gazes as it landed on her green forest eyes. For the first time, she didn't move her eyes away from him. She never can withstand his stare but today she looked deeply in his eyes as if surfing for something. All of a sudden, she turned her eyes away from him shifting her attention to something else.
She felt a light weight on her waist all the time as Jungkook wouldn't leave her alone. Fed up of his actions, she freed herself. His dark brown eyes looked at her as she moved a little away from him. He was irritated by her actions and she was irritated by his actions.
"Don't touch me" she whispered glaring at his orbs.
"You looked comfortable for this long and now you just boil up" Jungkook smirked.
"I acted comfortable" she retorted calmly.
"Then resume your act" Jungkook snapped pulling her to himself.
They were interrupted by another face.
Layla grabbed this situation and excused herself not wanting to stir up anymore conversations. She was searching for Juri. When she saw Juri speaking with a group of people, she changed her path as she didn't want to disturb her. Around the corner, she saw Taehyung speaking with five men in suits. Her legs sped towards him.
The men in suits dispersed before she reached Taehyung.
"What are you doing here?" Taehyung asked Layla when he saw her approaching.
"I have to ask that" Layla questioned.
"Security check. Now tell me what do you want?" Taehyung folded his arms.
"Two minutes. I need some air" Layla asked the older one "Can you cover me?".
"Party is for you" Tarhyung reminded her.
"Please. Two minutes" Layla pleaded.
"Fine but our men will be with you" Taehyung declared.
"What!!! Please No. Those two minutes are for privacy" Layla retorted.
"Layla Its final. Either this way or you can stay here" Taehyung stated cutthroat.
Agreeing she excused herself from the party. Her green orbs met dark brown eyes when she stepped out of the party but she didn't care. She had three men in suits following her which she hated but she had no other choice. The chill breeze kissed her shoulders as she stood near the fountain which loomed in the dark green lawn outside the hotel. She took a deep breath as she folded her arms against her chest.
"Where are you going again?" Jungkook asked holding her left arm.
"None of your business" Layla snapped as she moved away. She was immediately called inside when she was near the fountain.
When Jungkook didn't budge, she sighed "Restroom. Now move".
Pushing Jungkook aside, she strutted among the crowd, slipping few smiles on the way.
She glanced at her beautiful reflection in the mirror as the cold rumbling water touched her palms. She was flushed in her thoughts. She remained in the same position only physically present but mentally absent. Suddenly, she was startled from her thoughts when a little cute girl pulled her gown a bit.
The little girl handed a piece of paper and she was already gone saying nothing. Layla blinked puzzled as she unfolded the small paper with letters written on the paper coming into view.
As her green eyes moved on each letters, her heart drummed violently against her ribcage. Her lips quivered as her eyes blinked rapidly unable to catch the situation. She again read the note. Questions flooded her mind with fear rooting her body slowly.
'Meet me by the pool'
Taking a glimpse again on the note, she grabbed her gown running outside. Just by the handwriting she knew who it was. Her eyes held confusion, fear and questions.
Is it too late?? That's the questions she finally had in her mind as she rushed to the pool.
